I have an IRA too but I just don't add any more money to it nor do I plan on it being worth anything by the time I'm 60. Governments love to steal their people's money so I'll have all mine spent on real assets before shit hits the fan.

Union retirement package as well as 401 matched investment...and a decent size lump fund when I retire think it's 40 cents a hour or something....can retire at 55. Have a few more low risk deals going as well hoping for housing crash so I can buy another piece of property.

If you have access to a retirement plan through your employer, contribute up to the full match. If you have a Roth option in your employer sponsored plan, try to put at least 50% of your contributions there and the rest in traditional pre-tax.

If you don’t have a Roth option, contribute up to the match in your employer plan, and then add to a self directed Roth IRA next.
