If you are buying for long term, buy it with money you can afford to lose, put it in a wallet and forget about it. Check back in 2 years.Comment -

In short he's saying watch the 50 and 200-day moving averages, which are well below this current price spike. If someone is already sitting on some btc, then they could afford to be a bit more patient.
He's speaking more about using leverage though, so if you're simply just trying to average in and put it away for the future then there could be some small adjustments.Last edited by lotuspod; 05-16-19, 03:01 PM.Comment -

#7784Also some new research from Binance on stablecoins, and some tentative discussion on Facebook and/or Samsung making their entrance into crypto with what may or may not be a usd-pegged stablecoin. Future is bright for crypto, just maybe not the short-term.

#7786Needs to crash a bit or just becomes another dumb bubble. I appreciated when it was stable around $3800-$4000. Sure, I made money riding up to $5500 but now a ton of volatility and if you get it, could wake up $1000 less tomorrow. The most tilting thing is waking up and finding you lost hundreds of dollars of value. Rather it just stay a stagnant price so I can bet on Fairlay.Comment -

The problem with this coin is that it appears like a pump-and-dump coin. The price sharply sold off from 136 Satoshis to 92 on May 14.
This makes it hard to set your stops. I got in at 98 and my stop loss had me existing due to the price going down. No problem, I thought, since I could still get in at 100. Well later on the price goes to 92 and my stop loss was 108 but I was still out because I thought it was pump-and-dump.
Then it recovers the next day and I'm back in. I set my stop a little looser this time. Today it was up to 210.Comment -

Edit - Meanwhile from the altcoins point-of-view, there are so many projects who (over)spent a huge chunk of their entire funding on one or a few exchanges (and also the often hidden associated costs to the exchange 'partners') that seemed like they were trending at the time...only to see it has had little to no effect in the long run...or worse yet they get delisted a short time after for whatever reason is most convenient for the exchange.
It's the wild west out there for the most part, but freedom comes with its own responsibilities. Stay safe out there.Last edited by lotuspod; 05-19-19, 06:43 AM.Comment -

#7790Yeah the exchange game is crazy, hard to trust self-reported volume and all of that. Plus the rise of altcoins placed a huge premium on exchange listings, up to the 6-7 figure range lol. When you have trading bots pumping up volume numbers and selling sky-high priced exchange listings to the thousands of alts, who needs fees? ...or even real users at all?

#7791MATIC doubles in another 4 days so it has quadrupled in a little over a week. I think this coin is really going places due to the investment from Coinbase Ventures. I see a lot of money in these pumps.

BNB is now over $29 and I bought it at around $10 back on February 28.
Both could crash so I'm not claiming any victory. I will no longer post any more speculation.
Good luck everyone!
Edit: LOL! There it crashes! I don't pay much attention to these short crashes since my sell point is below that. So when the price goes up I don't count that as my value. I just look at it as a potential to raise my sell price and that is what my investment is really worth.Last edited by QuantumLeap; 05-19-19, 07:57 PM.Comment -

#7804An hour? That's not a long wait for bitcoin. I've waited on average 8 hours the past few months. Bitcoin is a garbage product and will go nowhere unless these crypto nerds can figure out how to speed up transactions and compete with the real money transfer places.Comment -
