Witness said he saw someone walk up and start opening fire. President and Vice President have been briefed.

Shooting started at 7:15 AM EST. Shooting went on for 10 minutes. Suspect was shot and apprehended. Scalise should survive. Still no more info on who else was hit. 5 or more were hit. This was a GOP baseball practice for an annual ballgame tomorrow at Nationals stadium with the Democrats.

Scalise had been shot in the infield, and started crawling toward the outfield to get away from the shooter. Shooter got shot approaching home plate, apparently trying to get better shots. That's when shooter was shot. Shooter seems to be a white male.

Shooter started shooting from behind the 3rd base dugout. Started moving in closer after began shooting. There were about 15 GOP members of Congress there altogether.

Yeah, Rep. Ron Desantis said a man walked up to them asking if this was a Republican or Democrat practice. He said he was not sure if it was the same guy, but shooting happened 5 minutes later. Representative thought it was strange the way this guy was asking the questions.

How about blaming the lowlife that actually did the shooting? Im a Republican and watch Fox News everyday but I'm not going out shooting Politicians because I don't agree with them. The problem with this country is everyone blames things on other people.
