I'm not saying it doesn't happen in soccer, but if the fix was in they would do it less obvious. That was a historic gaffe by a stupid goalie IMO.

Last few minutes of a Soccer game are some of the biggest for inplay betting.

First it takes a lot of planing to do the fix in such an important and large stage. You have to convince all of 11 players and maybe some of the subs too. Otherwise somebody will be pissed if they played their ass off and learn that a few threw the game and they didn't know.
Second, for how much money are you going to " buy " Hugo Loris ( the goalie ) when he makes around 5 mill. a year at Totenham ? What bookmaker's gonna take such large bets to satisfy all the players involved ? The ramifications of this thing going to the press are huge. You risk pissing your career away for what ? Again, I know first hand it happens all over Europe, but in poor and corrupt countries and in the early rounds of Champions League and Europa league. We are talking about the National team of a power house, loaded with superstars and great soccer exposure. But, I might be wrong.
