This is a horrible idea. The reason you take a 300 - 1 team is so that you can hedge at the right time. A friend of mine had a futures bet on the Falcons while we were in Vegas in September. He bet $50 to win $7,000. I told him all week to hedge the shit out of the bet where he would have been guaranteed $3k. He wouldn't. I begged him at halftime when the Patriots were 25 to 1 to at least lay $200 and he would be guaranteed either $7k or $5k but he was sipping champagne and did not want to jinx his beloved Falcons. Well we all know how that ended up. Stupid is as stupid does.

Shouldn't be that high. Probably like 4 to 1. Gonzaga is -300 against USC but if they beat the Zags they might be favored over UNC/Oregon.

When I first read this I thought that would be the best way to go, but if USC lost then you have to make another pick for the final AND bet the other team straight up.
