No they'd never ban you for not going Pro man. Just respect the system and the authority (and by that me I didn't mean me) and you're cool. They give most of that money to charity and the rest back to us in prizes and then a lot more so it's cool man. I really appreciate your content and I want you around.

Why not just be honest and say $100/yr is needed for admin costs and such. Then give a convincing reason as to why this is a good investment.

This would be a far more effective strategy... but the people now choose to try to hoodwink people, but the peeps are smarter than you thought. SBR your PR people SUCK

Dude take a look around when you get a chance. Look at the Beat the Prick prizes. Look at what us poker players are playing these tourneys for. It's a LOT more than $100, week in, week out, year in, year out.

If you do that I think you'll feel differently.

But do what you want man.

You don't have to pay $100 a year to be pro. You acquire enough points throughout the year to renew your pro status at the end of it's yearly run. You really only have to pay $100 one time unless you lose all of those points.

Nobody is being forced to go pro, and to each his own, but arguments against going pro just aren't very strong. There are benefits for Pro's, that's just the way it is.

i think i dropped $200 a couple years back (for charity).

I've gotten waaaaaayyy more than that in return from gift cards, pizzas, etc.
