#39His start was pushed from today to Monday, to allow Adam Conley to pitch today.
If it hadn't Then he probably wouldn't have even been out that late, since he would have pitched today.....Comment -

#41Had to be speeding on the boat. People do not realize how dangerous speeding can be, especially close to shore. Most likely they hit the jette at full speed and were killed on impact. You especially can't speed at night in the dark.
Man what a bummer. Prayers for everyone involved.Comment -

#43i was looking through some of the pics from the instagram post above. looks like he really enjoyed fishing (and his boat). i remember being 24 and feeling invincible. who knows exactly what happened. but i do know it is a very sad story.
by his pics, really seemed like a good dude. he appreciated the opportunity the US gave him (pic of him supporting the troops) and he loved his family.
this story has ruined my day.Comment -

#46Fish & Wildlife guy said...
it wasnt his boat. Marlins players know the guy who owns it and use it all the time
They hit the rocks full speed and it capsized.
werent wearing life vests
no indication of alcohol or other drugs
...you can get turned around real quick on the water. The coast can appear further away than it is. Going full speed at night though, jeezComment -

#49dane mentions a great point. at night it's easy to get turned around in the water. from my days in the navy, i was the small boat officer on my ship (one of those rigid hull inflatibles). we used to have to pick up passengers early in the morning/late evening for my ship. it could get confusing at times with the waves/etc. at the same time i was 23 and the other guys on the boat were young too, so of course when we didn't have passengers on board, we were always going full speed. not the smartest thing, but we were young, and any excitement from our normal ship life was worth the risk (or so we thought).Comment -

The ocean is formidable, really seems like he got to comfortable and complacent to be boating in a dangerous area at 3Comment -

#56Seems more risk then reward at 3am in Miami bch..party town. Visibility sucks...you take risks and sometimes the odds are against you. Very sad. I hate the water..Beach is it 4bme...water too dangerous and belongs to fish.Comment -
