I actually almost feel bad for the guy now.. One drunken night, bad decision prank and game over..

The other guys caught in this scandal nobody will even remember their names in 4 years. Lochte they will.. He's kinda old anyways, time to retire from swimming and move in life if he can....

eye witness woman coming forward saying a gun was drawn on them. except it was the gas station workers trying to hold them there till the police got there. also 3 minutes of missing security footage of the gun being drawn on them. looks more like a drunken haze than a flat out lie

"Trying to hold them there till the police got there." Did any police ever come? Did any authorities ever address whether there was an actual police call or provide evidence thereof? If the police were coming, why did they take cash from these guys and let them leave? If the police arrived, why not show the video?

I can't believe how naive people are being in swallowing the Brazilian side. Yeah, these kids are douches and vandalized the station (although all we really know is that they tore down a poster). But they were very much held at gun point and extorted for money, which is not how crimes are handled in a developed country. And now one of them has been extorted by a judge who is making him pay $11,000 to a "charity" of her choice. All because they feel the story defames Rio, as if all of the actual robberies, cases of dysentery, green pools, etc. weren't doing that already.

he actually might not be making up the story after all. like i said, brazil is a shady country. unless you know the language or know the local, it's a bad idea to stay out all night. it's known for foreigners to get robbed there.

lets just call this no harm no foul, some charity money came in and move along. A broken towel rack does not warrant 3 guards, guns drawn, extortion on the spot to pay cash for a broken doorknob, citizens feeling they have to lie to save face and cover up a drunken embarrassment and pulling guys off of airplanes.

totally agree with this assessment....

f'n brazil has some nerve, when one vid has been snipped, and the other shows them out of the car, hitting the ground with hands up, and from the first vid they didn't snip the guy in the black jacket coming at the cab, gun in hand, and jamming that gun in the window into the back seat, on the side Lochte was sitting on.....

and on the curb, you can see wonderboy stand up against orders, much like he said, only to be ordered back down with a gun pointed at him.......

clear extortion to demand $400 bucks for a stupid poster on the wall and some other "superficial frat-boy antics" peripheral damage to a restroom.....
