It's because there's no playoffs, which the hottest team can easily win, although that is much tougher in the NBA then the NFL and MLB.

Yeah it was absolutely unthinkable a team that was predicted to finish in the bottom 3 or 5 could really best out all the "big" teams in that league over 38 games. Honestly if someone had made a thread predicting this at the start of the season I would've said "not worth it even at +100000000". Just the fact that they finished in the top 4 is completely baffling, let alone win it all. It never happens. But it seems sports are changing a bit now.

Very true in regards to the EPL, the smaller clubs have big dollars to spend now. Not sure about another huge dog winner anytime soon but every year from now on there'll be someone unexpected hanging around those Europa and maybe even Champions league qualifying spots I think. Get a rock solid D and hope your striker is the freak of the league and anythings possible, only get one shot though 'cos the big boys will be sniffing this summer at Leicester i.e Vardy, Ulloa, Inler, Maurez it's be great if the can hold on to them.

yeah there have been reports here in the uk of people winning pretty big sums, even people that bet a fiver are getting a 20k payout

sportsbook shitting their pants, calling up guys and offering early payouts

one guy blinked, he bet 20 and was gonna cash out 100k and the book called him up and he accepted something like a 23k payout, poor bastard is probably hitting himself

It's pretty crazy because no one even thought of them as possibly a spoiler type team that could compete with good teams here and there but had no real chance to win it all....they literally were thought of as a bottom 5 type team

Mahrez and Kante was some crazy good scouting....the defense has also been great overall. I think most people knew of Vardy

My 1.00 to win 5,000 is almost assured. I know is crazy to seem them almost there. I just bet that 1.00 because I had a few leftover bucks in 5 dimes..Also bet Swansea and C palace to win it ..so just shows you I am not some guru by any means.

Also to give you some perspective on 5,000-1 the USA to win the Gold medal in hockey in 1980 were only 1000-1..Granted that was only a 7-9 game tourney but for L city to do it over 38 games in absolutely nuts...IMO the greatest sports story in recorded history...

no other league is as competitive as the premier league, not in soccer, and not in any other sport

Wow harsh, calling L City a clown outfit...yes they got some breaks this year with injuries and other teams not up to standards but not a clown team at all..Arsenal. Man City and Chelsea should be called clowns with their payrolls..L city is 30 mil..man city 300 million..

It's harder to win the EPL with 38 games compared to 2 knock out games in 1980 hockey and 5 qualifiers. All games were home games for US. Leicester had only 19 home games out of 38.

Agreed, best sports story ever for me. Don't forget how they lost to watford in the 2013 playoff for BPL promotion too

Only league where teams play the full 90+ minutes every game. You watch a la liga game if team is up 2-0 and it like the 75 minutes that game is over and the teams are loafing around
