Have to back Ville here for a couple reasons.
First, this team only has one thing to play for, regular season championship. With 4 games remaining and 2 of those games being against Miami and Virginia, Ville can't afford to drop a game to lowly Pitt as they probably need to win out or at least 3 of 4. This is the tournament for Ville so I think you see a focused bunch.
Second, while Ville has struggled on the road this season all those games were against better teams. Ville has owned Pitt for years as you have to go back to 2010 to find the last Pitt win. The other troubling thing for Pitt is they are an alarming 0-5 vs top 25 teams this season with one of those losses coming in a beat down by Ville earlier this conference season, in a game Pitt barely scored 40 points against Ville defense.
This has the look of the Kansas game last night. Two teams at 2 different levels.
I think Ville eventually gets some separation and wins this with defense.
Thoughts and prayer appreciated
