#39If some other side doesn't want talk, why should Trump.
When actually engaging in negotiation Trump views the conflict utilizing tools developed during the twentieth century combined with tools he himself has designed. This includes asian (mostly Chinese) influence. The same tools can be used in any conflict or "negotiation."
I don't know your level of knowledge concerning negotiating and deal making therefore I can't tell you exactly what Trump does. There are many facets too broad to list here and I don't even know where to start.
Rest assured, the billion dollar business maker will never let you know exactly what he wants or how he plays it until the right time.
If, after what you 've seen, what you posted is what you believe about Donald Trump and his deal making, then he has you right where he wants you.
It could help you to read some books by Donald Trump. He's an excellent author.
You say "I don't know your level of knowledge concerning negotiation...therefore I can't tell you what trump does". Why not? Why should my level of knowledge affect your ability to educate someone? You also never know who might be lurking here that might pick something up and learn from it.
I'm not being confrontational, just challenging that point. I have a lot of experience negotiating large contracts. I also have a mba from university of Chicago in economics and strategic management. I'd put myself up there on this board at least of people who know enough about the topic to educatedly talk on it.
My point in my initial post was that like it or not, he stuck to his brand and what he believed. He wanted her off the panel, fox wouldn't negotiate so he walked away. Exactly what you said there.
I don't believe I have ever read any of trumps books, but spend a lot of time in airports and on planes so what's the best one in your opinion?Comment -

#45...You say "I don't know your level of knowledge concerning negotiation...therefore I can't tell you what trump does". Why not? Why should my level of knowledge affect your ability to educate someone? You also never know who might be lurking here that might pick something up and learn from it...
I think you actually do understand why someone’s level of knowledge would affect my ability to educate someone; it’s kind of a ridiculous question.
Instead, I think you somehow took offense at the notion, perhaps you thought I insulted you, got defensive, didn’t read further and asked question you know the answer to. Had you read further you would see an answer (in bold)…
Even though you appear to know little about Trump and I may not have been sure where to start, I still gave you some insight into his thinking. I’m guessing (and I could be wrong), that because you stopped reading my post once you felt insulted, that you missed that, or maybe you just didn’t understand it. If you can’t see the depth of this insight (again in bold), then reading Trump may be a waste of time for you…
...Rest assured, the billion dollar business maker will never let you know exactly what he wants or how he plays it until the right time.
If, after what you 've seen, what you posted is what you believe about Donald Trump and his deal making, then he has you right where he wants you....
So you know, I don’t like to converse with posters who respond without reading posts first. I think you are smarter than that, NewGuy.
Understand that my guesses about your behavior could be way off, maybe you did read the whole post and just didn’t pick up what I put down. Maybe I give you too much credit.
You want a Trump book? You need one that talks a bit about Trump the man, and a bit of insight into his thought process. He’s written and co-authored a few.
Let me think, let’s see, let’s stay relevant, um…let me see here, oh yes I have. Start with this book, it’s called…
PS, if your first thought is to be insulted by something I wrote above, just stop. You don't need to respond to me. Whether or not you actually read posts before commenting on them will show itself in your future forum comments.
No need to prove yourself right here, right now.

#46KVB just a comment, that book looks like bearnstain bear old and people can change over time. Mature up, life experiences, failure etc. I haven't read that and I am sure some of his ideals haven't changed but to only view him on his past and not what you are listening to now seems foolish. I think there is great value in researching deeper into people/things such as reading books but you have to try and not hold an old view but rather judge what is in front of you.Comment -

#47Negotiating tactics haven't really changed because the way people think over time doesn't change. Individuals change, but the same principals covered in ancient times and since have all been effective.
This is especially true for 20th century boardrooms.
Some of the oldest books are still valuable. Remember, my posts are not so much about Trump and his political drama, I was clarifying Trumps negotiating experience and tactics...mainly that he has some.
That book is timeless Ra77er, whether one likes Trump or not...all can benefit. There are other books about conflict that I can assure you Trump has read.
My posts aren't meant to "defend" Trump, just meant to increase an understanding where there seemed to be little.

#48I'm terrible at spending time making well concise posts and I thank SBR for not axing me yet but I do understand the value of that knowledge and I would love to read that book to have a deeper understanding. The issue for me is I have worked under men like Trump and they are a special breed that get things done no matter what. Frankly his rhetoric is inspiring and I can only hope he is inspiring others. I am fully aware of the behind the scenes gameplanning in order to win and reading posts like yours certainly worry me about my confidence in Trump. I am worried that I am missing some obvious alarm that he's hitler reincarnate or something.Comment -

Sharp post Ra77er. When Hitler reincarnate finally does come, the voter will have no control. The voter has little control as it is. Evidence he is not Hitler incarnate could be this... A candidate for the Dems had to file an injunction against his own party while Rep candidates have talked about leaving the party because of subversive deals.
Clearly, the voter and his voice have little control as the established parties are threatened. At least Trump is, for now, doing the threatening. It's his voters that demand to be heard and his movement that is to be undermined.
Of course, this could be deception. After all, when the bankers need legislation passed that favors them and will obvoiusly hurt the bulk of the people, they often come out against that very legislation. When the people, who are rightfully skeptic of the bankers, jump up to vote for the law and against the bankers, they often miss the fineprint or 1256th page of the law.
And the bankers win again. The bankers always win and if they don't want Trump, we won't get Trump.
Look at what they did to the biggest threat they've seen in the 21st century...Ron Paul. He was branded a nut and cut out of the conversation all together.

#62Read that book and the few others they did as well. Agree on the fact that some principles are dangerous and some are valuable. Got that as a soph in hs and did help change my perspective on money and wealth and how they play and how to perceive all of it. Game called rat race based on that book. It's interesting to play and more so to play w people who don't understand concepts of debt and passive vs. active income. Underlying principles are decent though and good to learn.Comment -
