St. Louis got screwed. But they did steal the team from LA. Should have put an expansion team in LA. This is a pure play to leach more tax dollars from cities. Need to bust up that anti-trust exemption. These guys are out of control.

A senator from Missouri said she wants to get something passed where if a pro team uses public money to fund a team/stadium and they fold or relocate, then the owner(s) have to pay back the public funds used. That would make it much more difficult for any future relocations. As far as NFL expansion goes, I'm not so sure about that. The NFL already has markets that struggle, so I don't think they need any more new teams.

So how much more expensive are season tickets going to be in LA compared to STL?

The NFL has already said that they have no interest in expanding past 32 teams. That makes sense. It is the perfect number for them. 8 Divisions of 4 in two Conferences. If a city gets a new team, other than the Chargers and/or Raiders, it will be a relocation, NOT a new team.

They say the tix will be comparable to the 2015 prices. I'm sure they will go up when the new building opens plus the cost of the PSL.

Jacksonville has always been in a weird spot. Most around that area are already Falcons, Bucs, or Dolphin fans. Orlando & Tallahassee are Bucs. Savannah & coastal Ga are Falcons. That franchise needs some success to build the fan base.

Just in case anyone is wondering about the popularity of the NFL in LA, over 45,000 people have signed up with their $100.00 deposit for season seats in the first 2 days.

Everyone who says LA isn't a good sports town is trippin. Yes, they're a shitload of things to do, but we also haven't had an NFL team here for a minute. Also not true is that there are no passionate fans. There absolutely are. Some of them are just stupid but passionate. The Rams will do fine, shitty or good. There will be problems though if there is a second team. I really hope they keep it to just one team. One of the posters is absolutely correct, 45,000 deposits in 2 days. Can't wait for some LA football.

And over 44,000 of them have already written the text to flesh out the eBay ad for the tickets each week.

The Chargers haven't announced a move to Los Angeles but the team is inching towards the City of Angels.

On Thursday, the Bolts submitted grading and landscape plans for approval to the city of Santa Ana. Santa Ana is the most populous city in Orange County and is roughly 40 miles away from Hollywood Park -- the site where the Inglewood stadium will be located in 2019.

The Chargers' full statement is below:

"This week the Chargers submitted grading and landscape plans for approval by the City of Santa Ana. The plans are for a five-acre parcel in Santa Ana that would be the location of the team's interim headquarters and training facilities in the event the team exercises its option to relocate to the Los Angeles area. The Chargers were granted the right to relocate to Los Angeles by vote of the NFL's ownership on January 12, 2016. The franchise is continuing to review all of its options, and no final decision on relocation has been made. It was necessary for the team to submit the grading and landscape plans now because of the long lead time necessary to secure land use approvals and to prepare the natural grass practice fields in time for the team's offseason workout schedule."

ST. LOUIS • A judge on Monday approved a settlement with the Rams that could mean up to $24 million for personal seat license holders in St. Louis.

Those PSL holders have until Aug. 23 to file for refunds. Payouts should begin in December, lawyers said at a hearing in federal court in St. Louis Monday.

U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. approved the settlement, calling it a "hotly contested case" that was "resolved in a satisfactory way, it appears to the court."

Under the settlement, which was announced last year, PSL holders will get 30% of the original purchase price, which represents a refund of the nine years that remained on the 30-year license when the Rams left for Los Angeles in 2016.

For a one-time fee, personal seat licenses allow fans to buy season tickets for games, and are often used to raise money to build a stadium. The cost of the licenses varied depending on the location of the seats, ranging from $250 to $4,500.

Lawyers for the license holders called it an "excellent outcome" in filings, pointing out that attorneys fees and other costs will be paid by the Rams separately from the settlement. Limbaugh called those attorneys fees reasonable.
