UNC will get in only one loss as well and would've just beaten #1 team

Who would have known that the loss to South Carolina would mean so much to UNC. Sucks too...as the Buckeyes aren't even playing for the Big Ten title

UNC will not get in
Poorly rated conference
Ohio St would score over 50 points vs UNC

Other than unc fans, do we care if unc gets in or not. Their second best win thus far is Miami. Honestly, if tcu was ranked ahead of baylor last year, why should unc pass clemson when clemson beat florida state and notre dame. So one game invalidates a whole season of weak schedule?

difference with that is big 12 didn't play a conference title game which hurt them. I'd say put UNC in as each would have one loss and they won their title game where as OSU didn't even play in theirs

there is not that many scenarios!
only 5 teams have a chance to make it
clemson
alabama
oklahoma
iowa/mich st only 1 of these can make it and they play each other so counting as one)
ohio st
no other team can make it.

I just think with same records if UNC wins. they deserve a look as they would've won their conference. Where Ohio St didn't play in title game

Oklahoma is actually the team that doesn't belong. Worse loss than OSU.or BAMA. This is a make up for last season. And don't give me this BS that Baylor tcu and Oklahoma st are good teams that they beat. They played nobody.

One of the big criteria is winning conference championship. Ohio st wont even play in one.

UNC could if they beat Clemson. Curious if committee back tracks on reason they left out TCU last year.

Are you kidding JJ? They will bypass the ACC champion with 1 loss so that the 3rd best team in Big 10 can go in?
Why not Iowa then if they lose to Michigan St? #2 will be passed by #3 in conference?

True. And they get a Conference championship. Dont think theyve beat enough winning teams though.

strength of schedules OSU 45 and UNC 53 or about that. Very similar. Have to think Clemson jumps that up for them

but that's not the only thing they look at. We don't really know how the committee really works since this is the second year. Don't forget it's unc a non-tradition versus a defending national champion, tradition rich school like ohio state. They are humans so it matters, just like Duke or Unc will get the higher seed in the ncaa tournament. Brand name matters. That's why alabama is ranked higher than iowa even with one loss. Maybe beating clemson will convince the committee, nobody really kows outside the 12 or 13 people inside whatever room they are in.

They are out but how is Ohio St who didn't make the conference championship game is going to pass them in the final rankings regardless of who wins Clemson/NC game.

If the committee believe ohio state is the better team, that's how. The number one objective of the committee above all else is to select the four best teams. The conference championship rule was put in so to make it difficult for the SEC to get two teams in the playoffs. If unc beats clemson, let's see just how important that rule is.

So they wanna make it hard for SEC to get 2 teams in but have no problem picking 2 Big Ten teams?
ACC and Pac 12 will go crazy if left out

as a Pac 12 supporter and an Oregon fan and grad. They DO NOT deserve a team in final 4
