The guy who pushed the ball to make it a touchback is an "illegal bat" and should have been a 10 yard penalty. Should of been half the distance to the goal and automatic 1st down

They only review scoring plays and turnovers. That shit happened right in front of the ref looking at it though.

Man, I don't think I have ever seen that called. If that is an illegal bat then they have missed a hundred of them where the offense batted it out on purpose to save a touchdown and take the safety instead. How would that be called correctly? Illegal batting - score the safety and enforce the penalty on the kickoff?

If that would have been correctly called illegal batting and it gives the ball back to Detroit - that would qualify for one of the dumbest rules in professional football! I'll send an email to the rules committee - yo - df's you need to look at this illegal batting rule!

no it wasn't. Ball was going to take another bounce in-bounds and just spent most of its energy on the bounce that sent it to what was its highest peak then was going to land soft without as much momentum. It could have bounced anyway at that point but we will never know.
