I'd be surprised if he didn't shoot 67 or better tomorrow though. His short game was phenomenal and he really can't hit it any worse than he did today.

Why would you be surprised? This is the tiger we all know and love showing up again today.

I bet all the Woods fans knew he was gonna stink it up today ....

Just like they knew he would go off yesterday

Sitting with a modest Fowler at +305, my only tournament winner bet. I like his spot here, but I'm not afraid to sell back for pennies on Sunday afternoon!

Justin Rose +950 is added to my Fowler +250 and +305. Rose goes low, squeezes into a playoff, and gets it or gets close.

Maybe Fowler will be the one pressing him.

Tiger Woods disgraced the gentleman's game of golf (at least the public image) and has been since paying the consequences.

Bc his short game and putting have looked good all week. He struggled off the tee today but I look for him to post a respectable number tomorrow now that he played himself out of contention/pressure.

True, after watching him Friday I was kinda surprised how bad he was off the tee today. Every shot on Friday was in the fairway with a perfect angle on the approach, was pretty sickening having a bet against him

An excellent, important angle week in and week out for the match ups.

Haas Merrit and Lingmerth are kind of an interesting mix to watch, truth be told. But fuk it, I'm going to the beach now.

                                      Good luck.

Actually, looking back, I noticed there is one, but only one, market metric I use that put Merritt in a potential win or near the top on Sunday situation. The payout for him in that market was so ridiculously high it wasn't even considered.

In my opinion, there will be noticeable rebound in the markets after this win by Merritt.

I went up there yesterday and followed Tiger around. He hit the ball phenomenally outside of 1 or 2 swings with the driver. He's heading in the right direction imo. He shot 66 on Friday and could have done 4-5 better. He shot 68 yesterday and it was the same thing. At some point his luck will have to turn. Nobody can have bad breaks forever. 1st hole he striped it down the middle and then hit one of the prettiest little cuts you've ever seen into the green. Ball hit the pin and ricocheted 40 feet down the hill. lol

Firstly, all PGA players hit the ball great - you can take anyone's round and find a half dozen almosts that reversed would have given them the tourney.

This is why we step back a bit and judge a golfer by his scores only - and tiger has a crap trend line.

Almost there really means not there. Tiger is not there.

What is there are memories, though, of ten years ago. And for Tiger's legions they often cloud reality.

To get your game together to the point of competing at the PGA level takes time. When someone is dealing with back surgery, then recovering from back surgery, being 40 years old tends to slow the process. I'm not interested in score. I'm interested in his technique and trends. To see where he was at the beginning of the year and the technique he was using compared to now tells me that he's putting in the work. He went from shooting 80's and missing the cut to playing 1 decent rd and 1 bad rd. Then he started making cuts. Then he started putting himself in contention heading into the weekend. I think we are in a culture of wanting everything to happen overnight. Golf is not like that. But we forget it because of how amazing Tiger used to be. When he was lost with his game I had no problem saying as much. But now he has worked hard and seems to be in a position to build on going forward into the offseason. By the time next year rolls around I'd be surprised if he wasn't contending on a pretty regular basis.
