True...To combat the shove fest from happening too early, why not start with an above average stack? Surely time levels & blinds can be structured to have tourney completed in 3.5 hours.

True...To combat the shove fest from happening too early, why not start with an above average stack? Surely time levels & blinds can be structured to have tourney completed in 3.5 hours.

Not going to draw this out but you are missing the point here. Of course the time and blinds can be structured to make the tourney finish in 3.5hrs. Thats the point, if you start with a larger stack but the blinds are increased and/or the blind times are lessened, it is no longer a deepstack tourney.

Every tourney SBR has ever done is a turbo style tourney.

3.5 hrs is not enough time to have any sort of deepstack tourney. Deepstack is not just a larger than average starting stack, it is longer time and slower escalation of blinds.

I believe that that format would suit your general playing style Bobby.

Starting stacks can still be a good size & finish in time, especially with the lower turnout expected. Obviously can't be run like a traditional deep stack tourney, due to the 3.5 hour time restriction.

A noble effort as always BD, but bobbo seems determined to believe he understands basic tourney concepts, regardless of the facts. He might not have any clue about the game poker outside of Zynga and SBR tournaments (ok, definitely not is a better description), but he might have some acting talent: when he decides to play dumb, he really sells it!
