I am going to be watching the Giants and A's lines very closely. I think both of these teams will compete in their respected divisions and will be a solid team to bet on early in the season

As a Giant's fan, and ticket holder, I disagree. Giant's may have one of the top pitching staffs in the league, but their bats are HORRIBLE. Only real off-season pick up for hitting was Renteria. Pablo Sandoval should have a break out year, other than that, don't see too much potential. They might be a .500 team at best.

Shows how little you know about bases, 5starstiff.

Giants won like 71 games or something last year. I see a 10-15 game improvement from tat mark. Putting them at or above .500. The pitching is solid, relatively weak division, and young talent. I like Burriss a lot and think he can play an important role with this team. Sandoval looks in store for a breakout year, Molina is consistent, Rowand is solid, Winn will have good avg, Lewis provides nice spark. I never said this team will make a bunch of noise in the playoffs or even making it. The Dodgers will be winning this division, however looks for Giants to be competitive instead of being 65-70 win team like usual

I am a bay area fan and have grown up watching both of these teams, I agree with you when you say there may be value in the A's considering Billy is a great recruiter for the Yankees farm system we have in Oakland, but as far as the Giants winning 81-86 games, I just dont see it happening...

          Hope you're right!

Giants will struggle to score runs again, if they can blow up less in the bullpen this season and Cain can step up his game, .500 could happen.

we got the steroid mokey back so hopefully he can hit like when he was in Oakland before, i still dont like his ass though, ill never forget looking at an A's mag with him having long hair and a goatee sitting on a motorcycle and a week later seeing him all dolled up and shaved in pinstripes. He will alwals be a bitch for that one in my book.

With the addition of Brett Anderson and Trevor Cahill, this team could be much better than anticipated. I know you can't count on young arms, but few are better than this duo and Oakland always seems to do well with rookie arms.

The Giants will not present value because they are awful. The A's may, but at the same time, I still see the Angels as the clear victors in the West.

My value team for this year is the Cincinnati Reds. Excellent pitching staff and a very underrated offense and defense. They remind me of the Rays of 2008. Maybe it's cuz they have Johnny Gomes now

Giants will be around .500 this year.... And the Reds are terrible and are in a better division
