I am Canadian and I don't see the big deal with that segment. Who ever gets upset over that needs to take it with a grain of salt. Much to about nothing. Rey Eye is an entertained show and it's funny a lot of the time.

Fox News show host says he was 'misunderstood'

OTTAWA — The host of a Fox News program that mocked the Canadian military and sparked outrage across the country has apologized.

In a statement issued to Sun Media by the U.S. network today, Greg Gutfeld, who led the panelists in the tirade making fun of Canadian soldiers and the RCMP, said sorry for the offending remarks.

“The March 17th episode of Red Eye included a segment discussing Canada's plan for a ‘synchronized break,’ which was in no way an attempt to make light of troop efforts. However, I realize that my words may have been misunderstood,” Gutfeld said in the statement. “It was not my intent to disrespect the brave men, women and families of the Canadian military, and for that I apologize. Red Eye is a satirical take on the news, in which all topics are addressed in a lighthearted, humorous and ridiculous manner.”

Never seen 'Red-Eye' myself, but it appears to be just another idiotic waste of time brought to us by Fox entertainment.

The Royal Canadian Mounties and the Canadian Armed Forces are excellent given the resources our friends to the north put into their military. They made crucial contributions (and sacrifices) during WW2 and have been a firm ally for us since, and the jokesters in that clip have the freedom to say what they want in large part due to our Canadian neighbors. Unfortunately Fox chose to air what they had to say, another right afforded by ours and our allies brave service people.

So a couple of people make all Americans ignorant? What people tend to forget is the whole world would be speaking German and Japanese if America did not get involved in World War II. Hitler was UNSTOPPABLE and maybe made one or two major mistakes that cost him the WHOLE WORLD.

The French are the best; Germany took their country over in two weeks.

I think you did a good job of disproving your own point. Perhaps you'd like to elaborate how US involvement was more significant than that of the nations actually invaded by Germany.

No, not all Americans. The post was directed at the FOX panel. They happen to be Americans. If they were Germans, title would be Ignorant Germans. I would attach a nationality to any group outside my country of Canada. Just the way I am. Flog me for it...

Look at it this way. Say Canada declared war against another country and the US joined in to help militarily. I strongly doubt a major Canadian tv network would do a comedy skit mocking US soldiers, as US soldiers are being sent back in body bags. Wouldn't happen.
