BAGHDAD (Reuters) - An Iraqi reporter who hurled his shoes at former President George W. Bush was convicted of attempting to assault a foreign leader on Thursday and jailed for three years, dismaying many Iraqis who regard him as a hero.

He would have been beheaded. As someone who has done security work in foreign lands (years ago) I still cant believe none of the Presidents security detail didnt blow the idiot away on the spot. In my day we would have shot 1st, and then the question would have been asked why the idiot was throwing anything at any countries President.

I think the same thing would have happened in our country. Imagine someone standing up and yelling anti-Russian statements and throwing "something" at the president of Russia? Our trigger happy feds would have shot the hapless thrower 18 times before he hit the ground.
