The Celtics will not dress five players when they play at the Heat on Wednesday night.
Five Celtics out (including Rondo) and Pierce and Allen's playing time will be limited.
I lean towards the Heat big here. Who's with me?
I'm predicting a line of Miami -5 190 over/under. Any guesses as to the line?

For the next game you might as well call the Celtics the Boston Grizzlies, that's exactly the kind of team they'll put on the court. This reminds me of the game when the Spurs rested their big 3 against Denver.

Denver won by 8 but Billups, Nene, and Martin didn't play much and they didn't play in the second half at all.
This was posted at ESPN and I don't think even tsop could disagree:
If Boston wins this game Miami should be ashamed. They are playing a team with a 3rd string PF a back up PG that is a 2 guard and missing 2 other bench contributers. They also have 2 new players that have only been with the team for about 2 weeks and 2 rookies that have a combined 20 minutes of NBA action at most. Boston is not going to play their best players more then 30-35 minutes and when you add it up there is NO reason for Boston to win. Sure Boston can dig deep and pull off what has to be seen as an upset but if they do Miami should consider becoming a D-league team where D-Wade can be the mascot of the league...

haha
miami may be 6 or more pt favorites the way that article sounds...
I'll wait to see what the public/line movement shows and all before I play miami outright but they do look good.
and the only question I would have (which is a very very very small question) would be when steph has his breakout game as a celtic (if ever)

Miami should be -10 now that this info is out. If the line is less than that, it would mean that Pierce and Allen will get more playing time than Rivers is letting on.

You are just trying to get Soprano to play Boston in your contest.

Well, Boston at +10.5 or +11 may not be a bad play. They'd have a chance at the backdoor like the Spurs got in that game vs. Denver.

I agree. But what do you realistically see this line opening at?

-10, but -11 not impossible. That line assumes Rivers keeps his word on Pierce & Allen though, and that the Celtics will really resemble the Grizzlies.

Better yet, just ask yourself what the line for Miami at home vs. the Grizzlies would be, and this shouldn't be much less. If it IS less, then Rivers is lying.

Also remember that I think Denver closed at -11.5 or -12 in that game vs. the Spurs, as the line obviously exploded after Pop announced late in the day he was sitting the Big Three.
This Celtics info has come out much earlier.

Heat might be the play but small, if Wade has a bad game Miami is a real bad team.

Line opened at only -3.5 and Pierce and Allen both played most of first half.
Imagine that!

You called that right. They combined for 81 minutes. I was almost exactly right about the line.
Anyway, I took Miami and got a win so I'm happy.
Who else bet this game?
