    Hahahahahahahahaha
    This contract is hialrious.
    Will be a huge bust.

It's amazing on how many average pitchers are getting such huge contracts. All you need is one good month and you get 100 mill.

man the Reds to need to treat this season like its their last ...

i hate seeing players get long term deals , it makes them complacent.

Players always perform their best in their contract year. Gotta keep'em hungry if you want max performance

Masterson just signed a one year deal for 9.7 mill to avoid arbitration.
        Who would you rather have?
Masterson for one year at a steal price or this cokk Bailey for the next 6 at 17.5 mill per year? ROFL
Reds are out of their minds on this one.
Trust me, this guy will never be anything better than AVERAGE, if that.
2 no hitters shouldn't get you that kind of money. He's cracked a 4.00 ERA once maybe twice in his career I think.
Some of the biggest no-name scrubs in MLB have thrown no-hitters.
        It's nothing special.
It's a special moment yes, but it doesn't mean the pitcher is good.

damn 17.5 million a year that is crazy!

i didnt even read that part.

The real steal is the Orioles getting Yoon for less than 5 million a year

This is one of the dumbest fuking signings ever.

He's has a career ERA over 4-- and his best year was just mediocre at best.

And the Reds pony up 105 million for him.

              They are just goofy.

Why was the panic button hit on this guy like he was some hot item?
I mean what other team would give him anywhere near that?
Just amazing they unload this cokk 100 mill when they were demoting him to the minors a little over a season ago.

Signing doesn't compute with me but he has shown talent. They probably gave it to him because they believe he can reach his full 'potential'.

I get that--- but they have Latos,

Latos is youger than Bailey---he is just 26-- and is a better pitcher than Bailey. The Reds have a lot of money invested in Votto, Bruce, ad Phillips-- and now Bailey. They can't afford Latos and Bailey-- I would have signed Latos the the long term deal.

The worst part about this signing is that it may not allow them to sign Mat Latos to an extension. He actually deserves money close to this. Much better pitcher. Bad deal for the Reds.

Edit: Didn't see Diamond's similar point right above, threw ya a point though haha

                            That is True.

Man i guess if John Lackey makes 18 million a year i can see Bailey getting close to what Lackey makes but the more i think about this contract its just mind boggling!!!

Sure Bailey is an above average pitcher but i dont think he is much better than a guy like Ervin Santana and teams arent even willing to give up a #1 pick for Santanna

Guy did have 2 no hitters... He has improved each season. Not sure on that amount but I think he can get a pretty good pitcher. But that's a ton

that # seems about right. I'd either take the over or pass.

The Brewers will be much more competitive this season so that is going to cut down on everybody in that divisions wins.

choo wanted 20 million a year and the reds i dont think wanted to pay that kind of money

Nobody could grip the ball last night, so any breaking pitch wasn't breaking and got drilled. Hitters didn't have to worry about secondary pitches either, so they could sit on a fastball and drill it. There were 10 homers and could have been more...there were several warning track shots too.
