Smith has been logging some heavy minutes and I don't see any reason, with decent shooting, that Smith can't get to 18-20 points tonight on the road. I expect the Pistons to score around 100 points tonight and there should be plenty of shooting opportunities against the Raptors suspect defense.Comment -

Quick writeups today, got busy this afternoon
Georgetown heads to Providence to face PC and I'm surprised by this opener and movement. Sharps like PC and I'm not sure why. The Hoyas have had success over the years at The Dunk, which doesn't boast that great of a home court advantage. JT3 has his team playing some good hoops, especially on the offensive end. The Friars have all sorts of issues, coming too two straight OT losses to Seton Hall (blah) and UMass. There are production issues, injury concerns and suspensions to deal with in Providence and I think it's too much to overcome in this conference matchup. Great number at PK (I jumped the gun at -1) and it's purely the better team without issues takes the win tonight.
In Happy Valley, I'm backing the Golden Gophers and seem to be on the right side of this number. Penn State has a great offense and can score with anyone in the country, but I think Minny is a more complete team and is a squad that can make a run in the tournament. It's important for Minny to lock up this win tonight with a brutal stretch of Big Ten play coming. The middle-of-the-road teams in the Big Ten have to win games against lesser competition and this fits the bill perfectly. They played a good Michigan team tough and is one of the better teams in the conference. I'd expect a solid effort tonight in a closely contested game.
In Chapel Hill, I'm merely banking on the Tar Heels to run and a lot of possessions tonight. I know Miami plays unreal defense and at a very slow tempo, but with every missed shot will lead to an up and down battle. Miami shoots well from deep as proven early in the Syracuse game. If this game can get into the 70's in possessions, I like my chances....even with the horrid FT shooting by the Tar HeelsComment -

One more prop. Going back with Hibbert tonight on the road. Hawks have all sorts of interior problems and I think Hibbert will get to double-digit rebounds tonight against Brand and whoever else they have in the point. No Horford is a killer. Celtics had a lot of success inside on NYE, that's enough for me.

Forgive me as this game still pisses me off. Unusual line IMHO. If you would have told me Syr holds Mia to 44 I would be broke now. I got sucked in at 13. Fishy as hell. Cooley who could shoot 50% from 3 in his sleep goes like 2-14.

Yeah, Syracuse defense came up big later in that game. Miami went cold at the wrong time. Syracuse wasn't anything special besides the first 5 minutes and last 5 minutes of the game. It was a painful one to watch if you had the Over or laid the points with Syracuse. I'm still not sure what to make of the Carolina offense or the Miami defense. I'm trying to figure out if Carolina just sucks or Miami really is THAT good. I just don't know? I'll be staying away from both teams (along with UConn) until I can definitively answer my own questions
