SYRACUSE was the very first bowl play I made soon after the lines came out. I see Orange run defense putting Gophers in many third-and-longs and Minnesota QBs suck ass in passing situations, plus Syracuse has one of the best third down defenses in the country. We shall see.

Didn't GT run all over Syracuse? What best running defense are you talking about? Syracuse is lucky to be in a bowl game. Minnesota is there to make a statement and win it all. Is do or die for the Gophers and the troops will march to victory tonight in triumphant style.

I keep hearing all this talk about Syracuse this and Syracuse that.

BUT TONIGHT (raises a pointed finger to emphasize the switch in tone) I think those Gophers are really going to get after it, and they're going to score lots of touchdowns, and show everybody how you do The Gopher.

Syracuse is 27th in the country in rushing defense and allowing just 3.8 YPC. Georgia Tech does that to most team and Syracuse never saw their triple option before. Minnesota is no such animal.

Not really true, Minnesota 47th in SOS, Syracuse 48th. ACC better than last year (albeit top-heavy), Big Ten had a down year based on the power ratings.
