Depends on how you play, and depends on rules and number of decks. You can find blackjack games with a 1% edge (if you make perfect math play EVERY TIME)... but if you are sucker that stands 16 v dealer T, and you dont double every time you should, and you dont split and double every time you should, you will get cleaned out.

if you make perfect math play every time their edge is smaller than roulette and slots.

online though i have been killed. make perfect math play every time but losing 10x what i should be. online BJ is rigged. i quit playing it.

I've gotten sucked in to making some money at it and before I know it I'm playing $500/hand and busto in a few minutes (usually on a poker bankroll, not sports betting).

It always starts with like "oh my balance is 1501, I'll just play with that one dollar."

5 minutes later I'm playing $500 a hand and no amount is good enough until I'm back to even or above it (and the odds of that aren't good).

So, uh ... yeah, I stopped playing online blackjack for the most part. I'll throw $1-5 at it every now and then but never let it suck me in for more.

One thing I'll say in my defense is I am never "scared" out of playing proper mathematical strategy regardless of stakes. I won't not-hit on something cuz of a gut feeling or some bullshit like that. If the dealer's showing a 10 and I gotta make a brutal hit with little room for error I'll do it.
