That video cost me a lot of money to make but the idea popped into my head & I really wanted to make the vid for that drunk fukk Sweeper & also for LVK1. I thought Drinker would find it funny to & it was a good way to show a little respect for three great posters who we may never see here again.
Either way, I had to find Mandalay Bay note pads & found out that they don't have them any more so the concierge took the time to go see if there was something he could do & when he returned with letterhead & thanked him & tipped him $10 because it was busy & Mandalay Bay is a classy joint! Then I needed to cut the paper down to pad size & the only place I could find that had scissors was the tattoo parlour. After I cut the paper I tipped the parlour attendant $2 & now all I needed to do was find a place in the casino where I could see The Hotel from. As we all a know there are not many windows in casinos so, I went to the pool area at the Excalibur & couldn't get in without a room card. I tipped the towel girl $ 5 to get to the window where I took the shot & voilla..we have the most expensive video of the trip!Comment -

I had a video ready where I gave smokes to an 80 year old homeless guy while asking him if he was Vegas39's son?! I deleted it when Vegas checked in. Anyone who can honestly say that they are earning a living doing what I try to do down there, deserve all the credit in the world. Maybe insecure nerdowells like poster Bateman are right. Maybe when I treat it like a vacation, it comes off as "self indulgence" , because I'm not sleeping & playing poker 16 hours a day? Don't think that I am fooled by his apparent " concern" for my families' finances & how I go about financing them.

Here's the summary:
THE CLASSIC
Let's start with the Aria. I was at the poker room for the chip out on the final day of the opening round & was able to get a glimpse of the pre tournament routine.

After they got started I went to the Buffet & posted some of my dishes but, here's a shot of the entire buffet.

The food was incredible & I'd say it was arguably the single greateseal i had in Vegas.
The next evening I arrived back at the Aria when there were 6 tables remaining & they were setting up the Final Table.

Immediately after I shot that clip someone was busted out & made $9000.00.
I was standing beside a guy who started texting on his phone. He put his phone back in his pocket & looked at me and said, "Thats my buddy who just went out."
We talked for a bit & I think he said he was from Arkansas and I learned that he staked his buddy in the Classic so they were both really Excited.
Shortly after that, someone came up to us and said, " He wants you to come to the cash out table".
I guess you get your picture taken at the cash out table when you bust out.
...I didn't stick around all night to see who won so, I couldn't tell you their name but, I can tell you that they are now a millionaire.
The Aria is by far the most esthetically eye pleasing resort in Vegas. Its nice to pretend I'm One of the rich people for the 20-30 mins I spend there! High minimums & overpriced food. Just what you need to keep dirt bags like me out of there!

I lost $60 playing paid how at the Aria & another $45 playing BJ. I also ayed slots for the 1st time in my gambling career. Back to the Future. List $50.
I never win money at the Aria. Well once I won $200 saying roulette with a dealer who said he was Novak Djokovichs ' cousin. But that was over 7 years ago.
Maybe next year I'll try my luck in this tourney but this year my BR just couldn't justify it. I think in hindsight, I made the right down decision.Comment -

We're seeing parts of Vegas that mist of us have never seen before. And may never see again. It definitely a new perspective of Vegas! I like it. Keep it up JJ.

THE WSOP
A shuttle bus leaves Bally's every 1/2 hour for the Rio. I arrived at the Rio ready to pop my WSOP cherry & i did just that, in the 6:00pm Deep Stacks. Before I took my seat I was able to get permission to tape, not only the entire poker area but , also Chris Moneymaker at the feature table. The 1st security guard I asked said, No. So, I made to thank the guard who allowed to take quick video. Footage is blury when I zoom in at the Feature table but, he is sitting at seat #1.

Word around the Rio poker room is that he is still a true degenerate & only getting worse. If you believe everything that you hear at a poker table, and I DO, he recently stole or borrowed $70,000.00 from his Father & if he doesn't cash in the Main Event he's broke again!
Is it any wonder why this guy is one of my gambling heroes. He's Truly making a run at my all time favourite gambling icon, Stu Unger.
I was seated at table 301 in seat 4 & within the 1st hour I had taken out 4 players. Too bad it wasn't a Bounty Tourney! So, there I was, quadrupled stacked & shitting my pants in the most important tourney of my short career with sweatty palms & a nautious stomach, when they call 3rd break. I burst out of my seat, ran to the bathroom, pissed & then RAN out to the smoking area to chain smoke for 20 mins. While I was out there I talked to a restaurant owner from L.A. who helped to calm me down a little with stories of how he busts out of the Deep Stack events all the time.
This guy was cool as $hit and built like a brick house. His Rolex was only worth $10,000.00!
We returned to our table & I was dealt A-Q as soon as I sat down & made a small raise preflop & was reraised. I called & when the flop came A-10-5 the villian pushed all in & I snap called. When bricks fell on the turn & river I beat his pocket kings & took out my 5th runner!
They collapsed Our table & we were sent on 4th break, I'm sitting just over $5,000 more than stack avg. On the way out to the smoking area I saw a guy who I remembered from my last Vegas trip & whom I had been playing with in the $2-$6 game at Monte Carlo all week. He recognized me but, Didnt remember me from last year. Can you blame him?
He asked me what game I was playing in & when I told him it was the 6:00pm Deep Stacks, he said "Me too".
I was honest with him and told him how I was so nervous & intimidated and he stopped walking, turned around & said, "I'm gonna give you 2 pieces of advice, "This late in a Deep Stacks event you aren't going to see many more hands. So, play Aggressive in late position, early in the hand."
I reassured him that understood what he was saying & why. Then he said, "...& the second thing is, the worst thing that is going to happen to you is that you might lose $185 tonight."
He shrugged his shoulders & made a quick laugh.
Easy for him to say, I thought to myself. If he does for a living, what I think he does for a living, this might not all seem like a great big deal. A mini cash in this tourney gets me into the 3:00pm. Deep Stacks tomorrow, which is quite a bit more expensive with a much larger pay out & a FT gets me very close to a seat in The Main Event!
He wished me luck & turned and walked away, presumably to the smoking area. I know he smokes because I saw him smoking at Monte Carlo & he always seems like he's in a hurry for something.
My suspicions were later confirmed when he played in the Monte Carlo free roll on my final day. I'll go into more detail when I discuss the free roll later.
When we sat at the new table things changed. There were 90 players left & I felt that it was "coin toss city". I folded pocket fours on my big blind after two raises & folded 77 preflop when the large stack moved all in after a small raise.
I thought I was going to be able to limp in with pocket 3's when the BB raises all in for what would be exactly 1/2 my stack. I must have thought for nearly 3 minutes Before I finally mucked.
I went to 5th break having accomplished nothing besides contributing the the blinds & antes.
Another 40 minutes pass & the blinds & antes raise twice more & i fold 2 more pocket pairs but, finaly pick up a black pair of pocket eights. I have to call a substantial raise but I'm gonna see a flop this hand, even if I happen to be in early position. Even if it costs me a little more, because I got this guy covered.
If I don't hit my 7 to 1 shot, I can utilize my position & over bet the pot, try to push him off, or check in early position & fold if he makes a play at the pot. The flop comes K-10-5, all diamonds. I'm 1st to act & all I wanna do is throw them into the muck after crumpling them in my fist. But, I calmly & quickly check & BB thinks for a few seconds, then looks at me, then looks at the pot, counts it. Then he looks at my chips & at his chips, then looks at the board & counts all his chips, then looks at my chips again & then he looks down at nothing & looks at the dealer??? Then he counted his chips again & looked at me again & then looked at his phone ...lol
...And finally shoved his stack in.
Two seconds later I folded.
About 3 minutes Before the next break I get dealt jk & find myself heads up with the player I believe is the Loosest player at our table. After we both check on the flop the turn pairs the board with 6's And he throws out, what I believe to be a test bet so make the min raise & he calls.
The river brought 2 pairs on the board & after two quick checks his ace high beats my k high with the two pairs on board.
I've just given away 1/2 of my chips & there's no doubt in my mind that I just played that last hand horribly.
With 58 players left after the 6th break, I know I have to make a move & quickly because I'll be blinded out by 7th break.
Queen - Seven Clubs was the best hand I saw after paying 4 sets of blinds & shoved & was called by, you guessed it. Pocket Vowels. I turned a fourth club but when a brick came on the rriver, I wished everyone good luck, told pocket aces not to give my chips away & made the walk of shame down the WSOP hallway to the casino to play some 2:30am BJ.
