How many games/days did get Roy for his outburst at the 1st season match? Exactly. 15 is more than enough for Torts, he was just defending his team but got buttfucked over this because of his reputation.

Almost knocking over a partition yelling across the bench and trying to storm into the opposing team's locker room to fight the head coach are 2 different actions. The latter being far more intense and worse for the game. He should have been suspended longer.

Few years ago Laviolette (then coaching Flyers) went into scrum with Ott (then played for Dallas) when the period was over and players were leaving ice. Both got off without any disciplinary actions. As I said, because it's Tortorella who did that people are upset over it. If Bylsma did the same thing against Boston, he wouldn't even get suspended.
Players get suspended for 2 games when giving concussion to another player. What kind of a message is this then? Shanaban is a joke, we all know that but IMO 15 days is enough.

Much more $ and eyes on the league now. Can't have that shit happening.

Short handed goal.
A goal scored by the team that is killing a penalty.

Not foolish at all Fitter. As Boeing said, a SHG or "Shorty" is a short handed goal. It's a rarity and usually comes off an errant pass which leads to a break away/2 on 1. Example, the Coyotes scored their first short handed goal of the season tonight. They don't come along often and I've had at least 3 go against me the last week or so.
Other abbreviations: PPG = Power Play Goal
EN = Empty Netter
PK = Penalty Kill

Very true. Many a time he claimed he was all in on a baseball game after his team was up 6 runs and lost. Oh, Gus.

thanks guyz...i just couldn't figure out the acronym...took me ages to figure out SMH...
and i once started a thread to solve the riddle of FML...
FML
________
side note: i've been watching a fair bit of Grand Slam (Aussie Open)-tennis this week and I notice that putting the words "Grand Slam" before tennis is like putting the word "Playoff" before hockey...night and day vs. the "regular" brand of competition
i now put male Tennis players (who play the grueling 5-setters that GS tourneys demand) in the same league as MMA-fighters, Rugby players, and of course Hockey Players as being unbelievably "tough as nails" (as opposed to the other extreme of being "overly pussified", the best examples of course being NBA, MLB, and even NFL--with two 50-man overly-padded sides engaged in an overly-interrupted overly-officiated event that's suitable for betting but not for watching...)
NFL and NBA are more like "legal hearings with specialized equipment" than actual sport...Hockey is the "real deal"

Yeah, I agree such behaviour is intolerable but people have easily forgotten how hockey used to be. Nowadays it seems like it's all about $ and nothing about the game anymore. Anyways, my point was if players hitting heads and causing concusions are getting suspended for only 2 games or none at all, 15 days for yelling at another bench and later in front of the locker room is enough. Hartley only received $ penalty on the other hand. He has history as well but he doesn't have such reputation as Tortorella. Same with players. If Crosby pulled Thornton on somebody, he wouldn't get suspended like that. Here is some history of biggest fines for coaches:
No 15 days suspensions from matches but you can see Tortorella is not the first who went to the opposing team lockers. 6 games is quite alot in NHL so that seems apropriate to me.

I thought about it. Then I thought I should fade myself when it comes to the Kings and bet the Blue Jackets. Then I drank a beer and said fukk it, I'll fade Benny Scrambles and the speedsters instead.

NBA stands for Never Bet Again. I may shoot a live bet in once in a blue moon but I normally stay away from the NBA. It has zero appeal to me. It's an unwatchable product and the totals are razor sharp. I tailed the board on the Warriors over last night and it pushed. Prob only my 2nd or 3rd NBA wager this season. Prefer college hoops much more.
