    *******,Dish Network etc.etc.terrible customer service.
I'm not one of these born complainer types and give just about anyone the benefit of the doubt when it comes to errors etc.but lately all throughout the land I see a total breakdown in customer service. The new motto should be,the customer comes last and the customer is always wrong.

I have had a rash of bad experiences with what are considered to be established companies. At ******* if you make a mistake one time on entering your password your account gets locked. If you e-mail them they ignore you and if you call they have a recorded message saying to make your complaint online with an e-mail.What kind of bank doesn't have live support? It's like pulling teeth to get someone to help you there.

Then you have Dish Network satellite where I like their product and price but their sales tactics are shady and their customer service is so bad you might as well just cut your losses because talking with their Indian reps is like being the straight man in the Abbot and Costello Who's on first routine.I feel like Joe Peschi in Good Fellas trying to communicate with Spider.I feel like saying you stumbling mumbling %$^&$%$%%%% and take a heater out and shoot his foot.Dish says their installation is 100% free.I had an easy installation since coax was in place from a Directv dish.It was a 20 minute hookup and the kid demanded $50.When I told Dish he asked for money they blamed me for giving it to him. Then for the first time in my life I contacted consumer affairs at out state's attorney general's office. It's been weeks since I sent them the complaint form and haven't heard jack squat from them.

Let's be honest. If we all were hooked up to a lie detector and were asked questions about how things are going in this country ranging a broad spectrum we would have a report that is accurately portrayed and it would be dismal.People go around saying things are just fine and you have to be politically correct, kiss ass and turn the other cheek but underneath we are all seething and steamed. It's all going to hell in a handbasket aint it.

Netzero sucks too. They say they cancel your service when you request cancellation and you discover later they are still charging your debit card. You can't get any civilized customer service to file a complaint.I can go on and on and on about this crap. The past few months has been a bad beat period for me when it comes to this stuff.I am a real stickler on book keeping so I'm not one to let things slide or make mistakes.I sent my cabin taxes to the county with the tax receipt and I kept getting refund checks back saying that I already paid my house taxes.I tried explaining that the check was for the cabin and all they had to do is look at the receipt to know that.I still had to pay a late fee penalty even though they aknowleged that it was their mistake.Good thing I discovered the problem because my cabin probably would have sold at a tax forfeit land auction.hehe!

Then I sold a piece of junk land in New Mexico and it took two weeks for the county treasurer to find the deed which was stashed at the courthouse there when some Newman or Cliff Clayvan delivered it to the wrong department.

I can expect government to f%$k up but the private sector is fast becoming the same way.

I've found the best way to deal with bogus charges is to tell them to refund you what they owe or you will file a complaint with your state attorney general's office. Believe me, this is the last thing they want to hear.

My trick is to tell them very nicely and very calmly "I've spoken to the attorney general's office and they've advised me to try and settle my complaint with you first. If not, they will look into the problem." I've never called an AG's office but that trick worked at least 3 times in the past couple of years for problems I had. That will get them to fix the problem. Most people don't use that, so the company doesn't feel a need to refund bogus charges.

Any big U.S. company will not fight a consumer for $50, when an AG complaint will give them bad publiicty and cost them thousands in the long run when it hits the media.

I'd threaten to cancel your account if they don't credit your $50. Mention you've heard back from the AG, even if you haven't, and they encouraged you to settle it with Dish first. That should work.

                  Then we have Ford Motors

I have a 2002 Ford Taurus that only has 54K miles on it and I'm a stickler on maintenance and it looks show room new.The fan-heat-air conditioner went out on it recently for the 4th time but it's still under warranty.I still pay $100 deductable though no matter what they fix or replace and this last time I paid an extra $60 because the Ford Garage mechanic put a water deflector under the hood so rain can't hit the fan-air unit to cause this problem from happening again.I told him it was an engineering flaw with the car and he agreed whole heartedly.Numerous other electrical problems happened with this car involving burnt out sensors too.

I tried telling Ford these things are not a coincidence and it's foolish for me to even have to pay the deductible when I have to bring it in 8 months later to get the same thing fixed again. There should have been a recall I told them. They could care less and blow you off.Can we say Toyota and why people who used to be steady buy american types are no longer giving a rats ass care if something is american when they buy it.

Here's your problem as I'm noticing a pattern:

You are dealing with crap companies. All the companies you have listed are truly terrible businesses. I'll put them in order for you...

                    1. Ford -- Hasn't been a good company for decades.
                    2. NetZero -- "You should NEVER have to pay for internet" LMAO
                    3. Dish -- Primary competitor is infinitely better.
                    4. ******* -- No incentive to provide a decent product.
                    5. Local Government -- Always sinks to the lowest common denominator.

Start placing a premium on quality and things will improve.

                      More

Actually on the Netzero deal I paid for 1 month and got about 5 free. It's just that they said I didn't cancel and I did and did a follow up and they assured me it was cancelled and then I was charged.

I am guilty of being a promotion whore so I guess getting burnt comes with the turf.Same goes for betting,I only play huge bonuses and I'll make deposits for those but outright free no deposit is best.I have been doing this for about 7 years and it used to be better but you still can make $$$$ with no risk.It has become more time consuming lately though.

I remember in the dot.com boom and bust where the U.P.S.truck was stopping by my house 4 times a week with free stuff.Online banks used to give you $100 for just signing up.It was crazy!

Deals come and go though and there are always some kind of promotions out there.Going to Vegas used to be great where with a little work you could fly and stay and eat and drink like a pig and gamble with no risk chips and the most you would be down is $100 total after buying gifts to take home. The internet is sort of like that too.

Down through the years I got solicited by phone and e-mail alot from fly by night sportsbooks and when you would take the free $50 they gave you and parlay it into $400 bucks alot would change the playthrough and maximum cashout rules etc.in mid stream but I would play along with the game and kiss their butt saying I would be a steady customer for the $250 they gave me.You really have to be like Eddy Haskel and be nice as pie and give them lines of B.S.and you get paid all the time.

I was big into penny stock for awhile and all the e-brokers were giving tons of no commission trades and that was good. They merged and would start charging for dormant accounts a couple years later so I took a few small losses selling to close my account.

It's all a fishing-hunting expedition with me and has turned into a hobbie especially in the cold months when you have to be indoors up here.
