    AA = African American

    It looks to me that AA QB's are much easier to defend because they think that they can do both running and passing but in reality they are diminishing one of the two aspects of the game because you can't run and pass on the run effectively. You need a core of receivers that can read your mind on where you are trying to run so they can get open and I don't think today's receivers are taught to run unorthodox routes.

    Near future as in next two or three years, no I don't think so. There are questions about Vince Young, Jamarcus Russell is yet to get into a starting role, Tavaris Jackson is clearly still developing and is nowhere near being an elite QB......

    Actually the black QB with the best chance of a Super Bowl in the near future is David Garrard, other than that I don't see anyone currently in the NFL aside from him making a serious run at it...

            I'd take yes if given an 8 year time frame. Not this year though, Jags are overrated.

              I think Garrard is the guy to do it, but as long as Peyton/Brady/LT are in the AFC, it's going to be really hard for one of their teams not to be in the SB.

                If McNabb goes to a team on the rise, I think they have a legitimate chance (i.e. Minnesota, etc). Garrard needs a stud in the worst way at wideout to give him serious serious consideration. QBs really are only as good as the talent around them... You have to have at least 1 proper 'go to' guy - or at worst all-pro ability at WR. I don't care what color you are. If you have crap receivers, you will not be able to throw the ball.

                TEN is a few years away - depending on their coaching situation and their drafting of talent. They also need to make some moves in a major way to get younger on the Oline, shore up their secondary and get a stud or 2 at WR. They can get away with their RBs, but I think they are 'ok' at best and you can get away with that in the NFL when you have 3 'ok' backs and can still move the chains.

                Minnie likely won't go anywhere with Jackson at QB. Bad feet. Not a terrible QB, but not a QB that can win games on his own - he's not that mobile IMO, and is really really young in the pocket - he needs to mature a lot at getting rid of the ball faster. Also, they have a lot of #3 receivers on their roster - no real #1.. I guess you could call Wade a serviceable #2. Rice is hurt, but he might be good... He's very green though.

                Russel? Jesus himself has to step in to improve that O Line, and even then it's bottom 10 in the league. Oakland has holes everywhere. They need to lose a few more years and get top 10 picks before they can start winning.

                Garrard? Needs a f'n target. Just ONE. Since Jimmy Smith retired, the passing game has died in Jax. That guy was probably the most under-appreciated WR in our era. A sick technician that just made plays all the time. Wilford is their best guy, Northcutt is old, Jones and Williams are more or less busts, but can still develop (it does take receivers 3-4 years usually). They do have some decent receiving TEs, but they just don't get the ball enough IMO... Or don't try to get them the ball, because they don't have the #1 pick pedigree of Jones or Williams, I suspect. David has a very very good chance, though. His pocket-poise is All-Pro calibur, very much. I was in shock prior to the Jags letting Leftwich go that they said 'Leftwich is our guy'. Garrard just gets it done somehow with a horrible receiving core. He has a sick defense on his side, however. He could do it Dilfer style. He is an amazingly talented game manager.

                Jason Campbell? I think he's a dark horse candidate. I think anytime you have Joe Gibbs on your side, you have a chance. I like how Campbell is improving. He needs his O Line to stay healthy and needs a #2 receiver. Moss/Randle El are SICKNASTY #3s, meh at the 1 and 2 spots. I think he is probably the 2nd or 3rd most likely black QB to win. He forces the ball a bit too much, but he is developing and is not the same player this year as he was last year. I think he has a ton of potential to possibly be all pro at some point. It's a shame he got hurt...

                I can't say much else for other black QBs - it depends how each situation goes and the opportunity involved.

                The ONE black QB, though, IMO, that got the high hat was Daunte Culpepper. I digress on him, but damn, man - he's got sooo much talent. I'd love to see him get a chance to play again. He's been screwed by his attitude and lack of faith from his coaches.
                He's got SB winning talent... Or did.

                  I would say unless Brady gets a really dark tan and considers himself black then not anytime soon...

                  If "GOD" was black then maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe.. but he still has to get by New England...
