Tom Petty Named Super Bowl’s Halftime Entertainment
This sure beats the hell out of Prince

Tom Petty Named Super Bowl’s Halftime Entertainment

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have just been announced as the halftime entertainment for the 2008 Super Bowl on February 3, in Arizona.

Earlier this year, nearly 140 million Americans saw Prince perform at the number one television event. The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and U2 have also earned the coveted spot. The most notorious halftime performance took place at 2004’s Super Bowl where Janet Jackson experienced a wardrobe malfunction in which her breast was exposed.

Fox will televise the National Football League’s annual championship game, which will take place at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona

I thought that said Tom Brady and I wondered if he was just going to walk up and down a catwalk in nothing but briefs. That, too, would beat the hell out of watching Prince.

Petty is a great choice. I might actually watch the halftime show this year now.

This should be the best show in a long, long time. Tom Petty is fantastic.
