    NFL Week 11 Monday Play
    Titans +1
Although the market may have caught up with the Titans (they are no longer flying under the radar are commonly being construed as average at best), the market continues to not have caught up with the deprecation of the Broncos and the “Mile High Effect” that continues to artificially inflate their home lines. I will continue to find spots in betting against the Broncos at home until they show some signs of a turnaround off their current underachieving status (no- last week was not signs of such occurring, as that was mainly a product of the poor play of Huard and his offensive line) or until books adjust according and get rid of the anchoring bias of what is “Mile High” and the customary expectations of them being an annual heavyweight contender.

This has the makings of a typical AFC smash mouth game. So whoever is better suited for executing a game plan successful for such a style should come out victorious. In my opinion, the tides have turned to the Titans having the advantage in this fundamental facet this season. The Broncos run defense has been one of the most underachieving units on any team this season. Their lack of size makes them prone to wearing down against the Titans power running game. This bodes well for the Titans chances, as they are one of the most dependent teams in the league on the success of their running game, as Young’s inconsistencies in the passing game coupled with a lack of receiving threats makes their passing game more successful when utilized less. The Broncos two greatest defensive assets 1.) Their two corners- have been much less effective this year and should be less of a factor against a team not heavily dependent on their two top receivers. 2.) Speed rushers ability- should be minimized by the solid play of the Titans tackles and Young’s mobility.

Even if Haynesworth doesn’t play, the success of the Broncos running game looks less probable, as the Titans still provide one of the better front sevens in the league. However, it is the Titans pass defense that has not gotten the credit they deserve this year, as they might be the most underrated unit in the league. This does not bode well for a Broncos passing game that has been underachieving all year and has yet to establish any level of consistency. Without having an advantage running the ball the passing game mismatch is more likely to be magnified. Expect another uneventful performance out of the Broncos offense this week.

Often times the market provides value on underachieving teams like the Broncos and makes bettors pay a premium for overachieving teams like the Titans. Tonight is not one of those situations. This is not an ideal matchup for the Broncos to put together a winning streak and get back into the mix of their division. Titans should win this slugfest.
