Lynn Swann for Governer on Bodog
Just an off the wall play I found @ Bodog. I live in PA and every report I have heard is that he will running. Don't usually bet these types of wagers but this one is pretty much wrapped up so I figured I'd put a couple of bucks on it.

Will Lynn Swann run for Governer?
    YES -140 @ Bodog

    From WGAL News Harrisburg, PA
HARRISBURG -- Former Pittsburgh Steeler Lynn Swann has taken a big step toward becoming a declared candidate for governor.

In postcards mailed to 15,000 supporters, Swann said he'll make a "major announcement" in a statewide series of appearances in early January.

He'll kick off the tour in Pittsburgh on the evening of Jan. 4. He'll visit Erie, Altoona and Scranton the following day, and he'll be in Philadelphia, the Lehigh Valley and Lancaster on Jan. 6.

The former Steelers star has been raising money for a prospective campaign since early this year and is widely considered to be in the race for the Republican nomination.

Swann's campaign manager, Ray Zaborney, said Swann will be talking about his plans to change Pennsylvania and his involvement in implementing those plans.

What's the maximum bet on that? Last time they had an easy prop, the online limit was $100 and was told to call for higher amount and was told over the phone $100 is the limit.

Your just about right. Looks like $155.00 is the max. It says you can call them to place a larger wager but like you said they probably won't let you go higher then that.

I think he is Republican...anyone know for sure. The governor in Pennsylvania is pretty popular out there it will be tough to unseat him.

He is a Republican but this prop is whether or not he will announce to run, not if he will win.

                Hey OWNED,

What don't you like about Bodog? I switched to them after what I read on here about sportsbook.com. I also just recently just opened an account with Olympic. I seem to get much better lines on Olympic but its not as user friendly as Bodog in my opinion. But I am willing to deal with that for better numbers. I do hate the fact Bodog seems to take so long getting lines out sometimes. They also never seem to have moneylines available until gameday.

I get dealt the shaft lines there. For example, everybody else gets the dog at +7 (-105), but they'll offer me +6.5 (-115). Lines come out way too late, I like to hit my lines early and I just don't like the overall gimmick, too much flash and not enough substance. Why go to Bodog when there are books like Pinnacle out there that are better in every aspect except for mass marketing.

All that work on the sidelines reporting about player injuries, field and weather conditions, and answering trivia questions with brad nesler has really prepared Lynn Swan to assume such a high public office position.

I believe everyone has a right to run for public office but I am really sick and tired of celebrities abusing the system. The problem is the public is stupid enough to vote for people with little or no experience who are strictly running based on their name.

                    Personally, I hope he loses.

I know what you mean with the shaft lines. Like I said I have liked using Olympic so far but since everyone seems very high on Pinnacle here I might have to move my Bodog money over there and give them a try. Thanks for the info.

I can't believe with my luck lately this actually cashed. Not a large amount of money but the first time I have won this type of wager since this is one of the very few future wagers I have placed. Kind of like found money since I placed the bet around a month ago.

Lynn Swann Announces Candidacy For Pa. Governor

PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers star Lynn Swann says the Democratic Party has taken black voters for granted.

Swann, who is black, said today that he is seeking the Republican nomination for governor of Pennsylvania. He also said he has $1 million in the bank so far for his campaign.

That confirms what had been expected for months. Swann said he made up his mind to run in the fall, after weighing support at events around the state.

Swann, a long-time TV football commentator, faces three other candidates in seeking the Republican nomination for governor. They are former Lt. Gov. William Scranton III, state Sen. Jeffrey Piccola and retired business advocate Jim Panyard.

The winner of the May 16 primary would likely face Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell, who is expected to seek a second four-year term.
