If they don't finish 9-7 or better, I win a good amount of $$.

Not sure I agree with them being good, I think there D is getting better but just not sure its there on offense. Looking at the schedule I could see them coming out of week 5 at 1-4 with there only win being Minnesota. 7-9 more realistic IMO!

11-5 or 12-4, losing in the SB to the Chargers.

Get of the Meds. Razz.
Good to see you back around.
I will say 8-8 and maybe 9-7 because they playing the NFC and are in the North. But will not make the playoffs.

GB sweeps Det & Minny, splits with Chicago. That's 5 wins right there. GB might be a smart bet to win the division if you can bet against Chicago and/or the curse of the team that lost the previous Super Bowl.
A lot could hinge on Favre, and I like those odds, even at this stage in Favre's career. Don't question the heart of a true champion. Even if Favre gets knocked out somehow, Rodgers could step in and make something happen. My worst fear is Favre playing hurt, like he's done in the past. I'd take Rodgers at 100% over Favre at 75% at this point. I wouldn't have said that last season. The clock is ticking for Favre. Loudly!

GB's D is improved a lot sure, but they have inexperience at the running back position, no real standout playmaker wideout aside from Donald Driver, an aging veteran whose thrown 47 interceptions the last two years with 38 TD's.... this doesn't combine for more than 8 wins IMO.

Where are the wins going to come from? Sure, bad division, but sweeping Det and Min is likely out of the question. GB can't run the ball period. They have nothing in the backfield. This is probably the worst RB situation I've seen on a team in a long time.
NFC East is not a good matchup for GB due to the strength of D amongst the teams. The NFC West is just way above and beyond GB, save Oakland - whom they have at Lambeau.
This team cannot run the ball and the defense, while improved, is still no better than 'serviceable/solid'. It's reasonable to expect Al Harris and Charles Woodson to slow down a bit, and Nick Collins, while all-world physically for a safety, has amongst the worst ball-skills of any safety in the league right now and I don't know if he CAN improve. The SS spot is a first time starter in Atari Bigby - a passionate player, but very very green.
This team will be bottom 5 in special teams - they're worse than last year, and last year they were bottom 2 or 3 if I remember right.
Linebackers are over-rated due to Hawk. If you watch him play game in/game out, you'll see he's still very inexperienced, as is Brady Poppinga - both can't cover woth a lick, either. Nick Barnett is fast, that's all he has going for him. He can't blow up plays like good MLBs do. None of GB's linebackers can.
Their D line is very strong, however. Making KGB a 3rd down pass rusher was 3 years overdue - and Cullen Jenkins has developed into a flat out stud. The Tackles are solid, at best, but no star amongst them - but they have a lot of depth and they are all average or better.
Offensively? The Guard play is still pretty crappy. Tauscher and Clifton are solid in the passing game, but don't have the wheels to zone block - further hampering the running attack.
WR is an interesting position for GB, Driver is all heart, but not a blazer. Jennings is solid, but not a blazer. The interesting guy is James Jones, a rookie they drafted. He's got great size, very good hands and can make plays - but is not a blazer. He's been probably the best 'playmaker' they've had all preseason and should start by the end of the year, which is rare for a rookie. He's still really green, though, and does a lot of 'rookie' things - however, when he catches a ball, he can get YAC, which is huge. The rest of the receiver corps are 'ok' at best. They could be solid, and we know Favre will make them better.
That ends at the running attack. There is none. They had only a tiny handfull of runs over 5 yards all preseason - mostly in garbage time - never with the 1s out there. Sure it's preseason, but they have nothing. Their rookie, who will start, Brandon Jackson, has NO burst and is still really young. He looks ok against NFL players, but he is nothing more than a typical RB - no breakaway speed, little agility and no burst/oomf yet. Vern Morency has some quicks, but mostly is 'ok'. He's still banged up tho, so no idea. The other backs GB have should be on a practice squad somewhere, and that's a stretch, perhaps. I don't know how they plan on winning ball games and have no real running game. I'd be shocked if they weren't in the bottom 5 rushing in the league - this is a HUGE concern and the reason why I conclude:
6-10/7-9. I picked them to win 2 last year and am hard on them, but the D did play strong in the pre-season. With no running game and a spotty O line, it's hard to think they could get higher than 8-8. This team is not that much better (worse in some areas) than last year.

Yeah, I get one right every once in a while. I almost don't want to even hedge my futures on them against the Giants, I just think that will be a total annihilation.

haha - thanks for pulling this thread up.
I'll start my crow eating right now....
I was way off on the Pack - they got much much better as the year went on.
Also, I AM a Packer diehard - and I'm also a polar bear on them every year, so....
Boy did I brick that one. Their young guys really developed quickly and showed a lot of ability. Favre also had a career-type year.
I was right, though, at that moment - and I stand behind every word - but sheesh, my 8-8 prediction "at best" is pretty bad. But also, the NFC is pretty bad.
