I remember when they used to have a really good receiver. That was the year they went to the Superbowl. That really good receiver came back early from a broken leg to play in that Superbowl and was the best player on the field. The Eagles decided they wanted to be cheap bastards and refused to pay that receiver top 5 money which he was easily worth. The next season they were 3-2 going into the bye week and they couldn't handle that same great underpaid outspoken receiver saying that McNabb was playing like shit so they made a spectacle out of cutting him and demonized him while sacrificing their season. Now that same really good receiver is producing for a rival team in their own division while they trail that team in the standings wondering how it could possibly be that their record is exactly the same as last year when their quarterback is playing wonderfully enough for them to lose half their games.Originally posted by Italia_NYCComment -

The cat is talented, but all that talent is negated by the fact he is a head case and guaranteed to cause turmoil in your locker room. You honestly believe the Eagles are upset with themselves for letting him go? They are sitting back laughing and chuckling at all the constant distractions that player has caused his new team. He has done nothing but cause that team and his coaches headaches and has failed to live up to the hype. Producing? I suppose for a #2 Receiver. See, that's the problem. The Eagles like to sit back and chuckle about things. Their "leader" doesn't have the intensity necessary to consistently win big games or even games they should win easily. While the Eagles are sitting back and laughing (having lost 3 in a row), they are also looking up at the Cowboys who are coming off a huge win. And while it's fashionable for the media and yourself to claim that unnamed receiver is #2 on his team, that is in reality a complete falsity since he is leading the team in receptions, leading the team in receiving yardage, leading the team in receiving touchdowns, and he's the guy that always draws the best cover corner or 2 defenders from every opponent they play. Make no mistake about it, unnamed receiver is the #1 option on his team and the #1 option to defend for opponents.

Yeah, T.O. would still be a good fit for the Eagles--he can drop passes like them, too! I know T.O. had that game with 3 td's, but lately he's been getting lots of balls thrown his way, I believe, so he better produce. I think he dropped a couple passes on the Sunday night game 2 weeks back? He's got size and talent, but he's the personification of a team cancer. If I were a safety or a linebacker in the NFL today, I'd gladly give a game's salary or game suspension to catch guys like T. O. and Chad Johnson from Cincy, coming over the middle and just drive my helmet into their chest and listen to their ribs break. Problem with hitting TO hard is that he's built like a stone statue. Defenders hit him and end up mangled. His last year in San Francisco I can recall two defenders that hit him simultaneously while he caught a pass over the middle. He stayed up and ran into the endzone while one of the defenders had to be helped off the field and another got a cart ride to the locker room while tied to a stretcher. Hitting TO is like ramming yourself into a horse.Comment -
Philly has been the good/great team that has been (before some years) because of their defense, unbelievable QB protection and HFA. They were great before TO and can be after him. DMN has always been overrated if you ask me, always bottling it in important matches, but overall he is still a star QB, just way from the best if you ask me. QB protection isn't what it used to be. D (run D) isn't what it used to be either. Oh, and it can't hurt if they can get some running game too.Comment -
