He might retire during the season if he has another game like last week.

I have been hearing alot of Tampa talk lately.

wow tampa would be a nice fit

business wise it makes since to trade him but the tradition is the only thing holding it up i think

but what could you get??? just draft picks or actual players in return?

If he's traded to a place he wants (NO woulda been it, but that aint' happenin with Brees down there)- he'll play next year and probably another.

He's probably 50/50 on another in GB. Ok, 70/30 against coming back, as the team is in serious 'rebuild' and pay dopes that can't play ala charles woodson mode.

As far as I'm concerned, after watching him every Sunday over his career - people STILL don't know how good the guy is. He should retire when his arm falls off... There isn't another passer like him at all - and there was no one even close when he was in his prime (and I'm not talking talent, I'm talking uniqueness - he did things that elway/marino/unitas/manning/montana, etc, etc couldn't do - win or lose - and it was damn fun to watch).

Favre will play for the Packers most likely for another 2 to 3 years unfortunately and retire a Green Bay Packer.

The fans love him, and the fans own the team. Now with that being said, he's staying as long as he wants too..

Could not agree more, finally a voice of reason......he is not going to retire in mid-season, Favre would not do that to the Packers, better question to you posters, why would he do that . Hi is still the best they have, and all they have. Trade.....that will never happen. GM Ted Thomson would be in a body bag or at the bottom of a lake with cinder blocks tied to his feet if he ever traded Favre.

Yeah it was fun to see him and his gunslinging style but its time to wrap it up and let Rogers take control.

Either way, Ted Thompson won't be in Green Bay long. The guy is an idiot making bad personnel moves almost daily. Look no further than their offensive line. They have TWO rookie guards and a center with only 13 starts under his belt. Now they cut their starting(Henderson is hurt) fullback? To hell with more receivers, give Favre at least two seconds without the pocket collapsing!

You guys are really hard on Favre. He is not finished. Yes he will make bad decisions, and I know in this day and age that can be a dreadful and game ending affair, but he is a great professional who can singlehandedly give a team a shot of winning. Lets see how any qb looks if you put a high school football team in the NFL. That is a bad example, obviously, but what I am trying to say is the team is not very good whatsoever. The coach is a not very good. The guards Spitz and Moll are rookies who are struggling with the protection scheme as well as the physical BLOCKING aspect of the game. I will tell you this, I am not blind to his poor play....and I will not doubt that their is a possibility that it might be time to hang it up. But give the guy a chance to prove himself....he played quite possibly the best defense in the league last week with 3 rookies starting on offense alone. This week might possibly be 4 rookies. This I honestly believe that if you put him in a good offense that protects him and doesn't expect him to win every single game by himself, like the ole days, he will be a great QB. I hope he moves on from the Packers and shuts up everyone who has gotten on him so much during the last few years. A team like Washington, KC (post Green), TB (as someone said earlier), and probably a couple others should strongly look into him as an alternative. I guess he might be over the hill, but it sucks that we constantly have to judge him based on him playing with that super sucky team. This coming from a huge Green Bay Packers fan, living in Green Bay. This rant is over. GO PACK!

I never thought I would feel this way....but I hope that Favre goes somewhere else. Being a Packer & Favre fan I absolutely LOVE to watch him play....but would love to see his skills put to good use somewhere else. This isn't because I think Aaron Rodgers is the answer.....rather because it is painful to see a superstar (Favre) surrounded by a bunch of Rod-Munches.

I believe that if Favre played on a team that had talent AND a head coach who could control him he could still be very good. I think the main reason he was so good when Holmegren was the coach was because he didn't let him play out of control for the most part.

I think this rookie coach is to afraid to say anything to Favre. I remember whenever he did something stupid Holmgren would pull him aside and let him know NOT to do that again. Again, put Favre on a team with a strong offensive minded coach whose not afraid to tell him to quit the out of control gunslinging and they will be a good team.

He would never get any play in Washington. We already have one old man and Gibbs likes Campbell too much.

I simply can stand seeing someone of favre's ability play the way he has to play right now. 55 passes today. come on. this team is horribly young and ******. no protection from the line young young young.... i wouldn't want to see favre in another uniform but i would understand if he went somewhere else. he won't reitire this year like someone posted earlier in this thread. he is alright. just not the best qb in theleague anymore. i don't think to many other qb's could do mu

Favre isn't as good as he once was but he is still a great QB, he just doesn't have all the weapons like he use to. Hopefully GB can improve before Farve retires.
