Romeo more serious than Lovie
By: Scott Spreitzer
With the Browns treating this one like a regular season game and the Bears still in basic preseason mode, take Cleveland and give the points tonight.
I'm playing the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night in their meeting with the Bears. Although I doubt he'll stick to his words, Cleveland head coach Romeo Crennel told his starters to be ready to play the entire four quarters tonight.
Whether QB Charlie Frye sees a lot of action tonight or not, we're in for one of the keys we love in preseason...a fight between two QBs for the backup role. We'll see a lot of Derek Anderson and Ken Dorsey tonight. Anderson has made great strides over the last two weeks and the second string job is up for grabs.
Meanwhile, the Bears haven't won their final preseason game since 1994. That string doesn't look to change tonight. Lovie Smith said the starters will play a couple of series at the most. In fact, the Bears' head coach said it's already time to start looking to and preparing for the season opener against Green Bay.
It's a great spot for the Browns and we'll lay the points on Thursday.
