I'm new to this site, what are POINTS/CONTESTS/etc...?

Hello, I originally came to this forum several weeks ago per my friends advice to voice my complaints about Bookmaker.com and how they weren't paying me. Well, they finally paid me my 15k after much haggling and much time lost. I visit the site occassionally and am always seeing things about points and contests. What are these points, contests, etc...? Can I win money by entering? What do you win? Someone please help, thank you
