Huskies should not be overlooked. This is a team that was ranked early in the year and got hot at the right team in the Pac 10 tournament. Marquette is a pretty good draw because Marquette doesn't mind going up tempo. I'm not sure on this one yet but the line should tell you all you need to know. It's a 50-50 proposition. Going against New Mexico likely in Round 2, whoever wins will be a sheik upset pick I'm sure.Comment -

Plus, Washington has been ON FIRE lately. They had a terrible start to the season- not being able to find a way to win on the road. But they've been on a tear recently and won 3 in a row on the road to close out the season. Followed by another 3 in a row including a victory against Cal. Bryan-Amaning has made a huge impact for UW stepping up as a dominant big man. Got 20 pts, 10 boards, and mutiple blocks recently. Quincy pondexter is a 1st-2nd round NBA talent for UW. While Isiah Thomas is a crafty, quick, and athletic lefty who can give the defense fits. Thomas has also found his 3-point stroke recently, and that has been a big contribution to their recent success.
Teams always play a 2-3 zone against UW because they are too athletic and quick to man up against. And, their outside shooting had been very poor early in the season (especially from 3pt range). If Isiah Thomas,Venoy Overton, Elston Turner,Quincy Pondexter, and Scott Suggs can step up their 3-shooting... then Marquetee could be in big trouble.
Don't get me wrong folks. Marquette is a great team who obviously played in a superior conference. They can win this game. But this is farrrr from free money. Don't forget the game is played in San Jose, CA so this is a bigtime travel advantage for UW- and most likely a homecourt fan advantage...You know what UW can do when they get that crowd behind them

This isnt free money I agree Im on Marquette but the time zone isnt gonna a big deal. Marquette is already in California most likely. I read that Murray State already left last night for there destination so im sure Marquette has left already to. Marquette fans travel and they will be there I would assume. But yes Washington will defintly have a **** load more people rooting for them because there going to PAC-10 COUNTRY. Big East vs Pac 10? Sometimes recent history can give u a clue. How about last years tournament? Only twice did these two conferences meet up. Round 2, UCLA vs Villanova, a 89-69 beatdown Win for the BIG EAST. The other, Arizona vs Louisville, a 103-64 thirty-nine point SMASHING of the PAC-10. The Huskies will be competitive in this spot. Let's not forget the travel involved here as the game is being played in San Jose, Ca which should bode well for U Dub. I like Washington seeing how they've put things together more so now down the stretch than they have done most of all year. Any team can have a great night or even a poor night. Ralphie you must not know that basketball is all about matchups it has nothing to do with who you beat and you lost too. Washington is not a bad team and you must not watch them at all because they VERY VERY rarely run pick and roll with thomas and pondexter. Marquette's guards are undersized and thomas play very big for his size and takes the ball right at smaller guards. The huskies have a very deep rotation yes thomas and pondexter carry alot of the scoring load but no they are not all washington has. Just because they show Marquette on National TV all the time doesn't mean anything they are traveling to the west coast. And expect alot of Purple and Gold in San Jose. Washington by 5-10.Comment -
