    Austin's CBB 1/15/06
    YTD 13-11

    Louisville -3

The Cards have put together back-to back wins in the Big East for the first time since joining the conference. According to the locals, they've labeled Pitino's lastest experiment as "Small Ball". The Cards are using a four guard lineup which suits the up-tempo style play Pitino is accustomed to. This lineup is obviously quicker and doesn't rebound as well, but the lack of rebounding is made up from the nasty pressure these guys put on which has led to an onslaught of turnovers, thus leading to the the easy baskets we've seen the past couple games. Pitino noted that the easy baskets were giving a huge boost to his teams confidence on the floor. The cards have forced a whopping 45 turnovers the last 2 games. They still need to make improvements from the line as they shot 13 of 24 last game out against the Friars, but I'm really liking Louisville in this spot after Marquette picked up a huge road win @ Uconn and returned home to handle biz vs the 'neers... we all know winning back-to-back on the road in the Big East is a very difficult task.

The total of 133 is probably a solid tick low as well. "Smallball" often leads to a quicker pace and easier baskets.
