The 49ers are off to a 6-2 in start under second year head coach Mark Price. Knowing Mark Price as a player, you know won't be surprised that they play @ the 30th fastest pace in the country. Don't let the record deceive you as Charlotte has played the 280th weakest schedule in the nation. This is the 49ers 3rd road game this season (beat 120 Elon by 5, & and lost by 22 to 68 Davidson) This comes off a nice win @ home vs Oregon St by 3 Saturday.
In case you haven't seen or know much about Charlotte, they are extremely small squad and don't go very deep. They want to spread the court w/ 4 shooters and let it fly. One the worst offensive rebounding teams (318th) & although they shoot it well from the strike they don't get there all that often.
Wake Forest comes here @ 6-2 however they played a much tougher schedule (87th) with losses coming to Nova by 19 in Charleston & @ Northwestern by 7. Danny Manning has these guys playing up and down, exciting ball to watch, when everything is clicking. The last 2 games the Deamon Deacons had to play against Chris Collins and Chris Mooney's in Northwestern and Richmond, both of which are defensive minded guys. Coach Manning brings his squad back home to Winston - Salem for the first time since Nov 23rd, and gets a dream matchup against a weaker team that wants to play in the fullcourt as more or even faster than than Wake want wants to play.
The total on the game is set @ 165 and for good reason, don't be surprised if Wake Forest crosses the century mark tonight.
Charlie might hang for a while if they have a great shooting night, but every miss is gonna be one and done and Wake will be looking to run.
The 49ers don't turn the ball over that much, but in a game like this every missed 3 is a turnover because several will be long rebounds leading to the break and they won't get many second chance points.

Ga Tech 3rd straight road game, in midst of tough part of schedule. Im not a fan of Josh Pastner, and VCU off a bad performance losing in miami to Illy.
Seems like Will Wade will have those guys ready to bounce back.

151 North Dakota @ 113 North Dakota St
The Fighting Hawks enter this inter-state battle 4-2 overall after going 1-2 in Dayton (Playing 3 games in 3 days), 10 days ago. The Bison finally get back home after 3 straight road games vs solid competition, also going 1-2 w/ losses to 122 MIzzouri St & 18 Xavier.
I like this spot for North Dakota St to get back on track, as in my experience when kids have over a week off (10 days here) they tend to come out very flat, especially in this situation after playing 3 games in 3 days prior. Furthermore, the hawks like to play fast having been a top 50 pace team under Brian Jones the last several years. While the Bison like to dictate tempo, and are very deliberate under Coach Dave Richman, posting a bottom 50 pace the last several. This situation makes me think it could even more frustrating for the Fighting Hawks, if they do in fact come out flat as I expect, combined w/ having to go 17-18 seconds deep in the shot clock on both sides of the ball, on the road.
The Concern is the Bison can be very sloppy w/ the rock and this is want North Dakota wants, to force turnovers and get easy chances in transition. However I think the spot North Dakota St having 5 days off and coming back home for first time since nov 22nd, should have them more than focused. Neither one of these squads can stroke it, from both 3 and from the line. Its pretty brutal #'s, as both shot under 65% from the strike, while hovering around 30% from deep.
Interstate games very often can be played tight and when you combined this w/ the other factors i mentioned, Im predicting an ugly home win here for the Bison.

Well My 1h score prediction is 31-22 ish bison, But lets break it up a little.

Raiders come into this match up 6-3 , having their 3rd plane ride this week, against a very good Ramblers' squad who many might not be aware of. Lo Lo Chi is 7-2 w/ losses coming to 116 ST Joes in VI, by 14, & @ 64 NC ST by 2. The Ramblers did lose Donte Ingram for 4-6 2 games back which does hurt their offense punch some, However they did just rally w/o him to beat Steve Fishers 53rd ranked SDST squad.
Lo La Chi does everything well besides offensive rebound and shoot FT's. They are going to turn the Raiders over quite often in this one and just make it very difficult for Wright St to score. The raiders live at the line and Ramblers dont foul that much.
On Offensive end the Ramblers will score the ball both inside and out while taking care of the rock.
I have this around 78-62 ish

Since getting blown out by Kelvin Sampson his Houston Cougars in Florida, Dave Paulsen really has his Patriots playing well. Winners of 5 straight, {187 Kent St, 273 Bradley (both in Florida), 203 James Madison, @ 85 Northern Iowa, & most recently 190 Mercer. Rounding into a 6-3 record entering University Park to challenge Pat Chambers' Nittany Lions.
Penn St is also 6-3, winners of 4 straight, having only lost to : 179 Albany in the opener, along w/ 1 Duke & 20 Cincinnati in Connecticut.
Neither off these teams are very efficient on the offensive end, ranking 260 and 265th in Effective FG% and when you dig in, they are almost identical squads, with the difference being Penn St wants to get out a run more, however if they aren't forcing turnovers they can really struggle in the half court. Both squads shoot it very well from the line, but neither foul much at all. Both are bottom 50 youngest teams in the nation, and the more I look into these 2, they are more and more similar.
They both make you work in the half court right around 18 seconds each.
