Something tells me this thread will be bumped in May/June, and not in a good way for OP.

This season is going to be interesting for sure. But lets not crown the Lakers just yet.

It's okay to be a homer celebrating on a night like this. But yeah this will be a fun season!
These skatedecks are on my wall...50 year history of the Lakers in LA in a timeline...Will I need to eventually add a Howard board?

I have to admit, that is pretty awesome, but no Dwight board needed.
Yes, I guess Laker fans get a pass tonight, for all the gloating.

Totally agree...Theres obviously still a lot of work to do...And I dont think Lakers are done making moves to improve their bench.

Bynum was good. Howard is a little better. The Lakers are a little better but I don't see how this makes them the team to beat.
The Lakers still have no depth. Nash can't guard Westbrook. The Lakers have no bench and no answer for Harden and Maynor off the bench.
While the Lakers three star players are past their prime, OKC's three stars haven't even hit their prime and are getting better every year. The evidence is in the fact that OKC has gone deeper into the playoffs the last three season.
Ibaka and Perkins can bang with Howard and Gasol. OKC is still younger and deeper. If the Lakers add a few key role players then I might be worried. Oh yeah, Mike Brown is still their coach. LOL>

When are people gonna stop saying "Nash cant guard Westbrook"... That's the weakest excuse. Like Westbrook is going to win a title on his own? That worked out well vs the Heat.
No one can guard Westbrook when hes on his game. But what you gonna do when Kobe, Nash, Gasol, Howard, Artest, Jameson are on their game? Westbrook your answer?

I got to admit. They added a pretty good second line of defense for Nash's assignment when they drive by him.
I scratched out Jameson for you. No need to include him in that list.

OKC beat LA in 5 last year. This move along with the Nash move makes LA a better team but Westbrook is a better player than Nash at this point in their careers.
Perkins always plays Howard well too dating back to his days in Boston.
OKC doesn't really need to add anybody because they were playing for the championship last year and the four stars of the team haven't even reached their prime.

Yes OKC won In 5. 3 of those losses were the lakers blowing it in the final minutes. I was there. It hurt to watch live. Let's see if that happens this year.

On the other hand. OKC may have missed their chance last year.

lakers just need way too many things to go there way who knows how long howard and nash will even last both have back problems and kobe looking horrible in olympics so far he knows he is no longer the beast he used to be still a threat and very valuable but no where near as much as he used to be

Three of the Thunders losses in the Finals to the Heat were the same way. Those were one possession games. What if OKC wins just one of those and the series goes back to OKC?
With that said, I'm a believer that the better team wins in crunch time. Miami was the better team just like OKC was better than LA.

Of course he's no where near what he used to be. But you also gotta see that he is a much smarter player. He makes adjustments to his game to compensate for his lack of explosiveness.

Dont get me wrong...I agree that the best team wins in a 7 game series and in crunch time...OKC was the better team. My point was that the margin of victory was closer than what a 4-1 series win suggests
