He didn't, Lakers turned down the deal mainly because the Nets were insisting on Bynum.

people said the same about kwame brown, olowakandi, benoit benjamin....... and soon he'll be turning 30 and youll be wondering wtf happened to that potential.

ive been watching him since he was a rookie and can any1 say he has improved even a little since he signed that huge extention 3 years ago? not even a little. he has regressed and been oft injured. the only reason hes still a laker is because pau gasoft is too soft to guard the elite centers.

if i have the opportunity to trade a guy who no one will remember in 10 years for a 1st ballot hall of famer id jump at it. but only if melo signs an extension cause it wouldnt be worth if its just a rental for 5 months.

the lakers shud trade for iggy from the sixers.
he would fit perfectly on the lakers
iggy plays great D, gets rebounds, assists, makes plays on boths ends, can finish at the hoop
bynum would fill a big need as a legit center for a young sixers team
both have similar contracts for a striaght up trade, or if they want to include artest, philly has enuff contracts to make that happen as well

bynum for melo doesnt make any sense for denver. the knicks and nets had better offers than the bynum trade.
