just look at line movement minutes before tip off?

serious question, I say way better off just looking at line movement minutes before tip off...am I wrong? Haven't been betting much NBA up till yesterday..

In my opinion people spend way too much time looking at stats, trends, and all that crap.

      obama linemovement is key
if you cap the game and the line moves against you, you are wrong (not in the sense that you might win or lose) but you do not want to disagree with the market, especially the NBA. however somethings might be useful to look at like ref stats etc but other then that linemovement is the biggest factor

I'm not talking about trying to beat the closing number though. I am talking about looking at the games minutes before tip and just making or not making a bet based on the line movement history.

Two years ago I killed it betting MLB solely based on line movement, but seems I get away from watching the movement these days..

Late line movements is one of the premier indicators (aka Golden state yesterday) imo UNLESS obviously a last minute public injury (like Lebron) occurs. Also I noticed if the late line happens on public teams (aka Duke yesterday), it's less indicative UNLESS the movement is substantial (one or more points). Of course late line movement followers can lose but in the long haul you wouldn't want to be on the other side. I actually use line movements more than statistics because I think Vegas mostly have it covered from a statistical standpoint.

Line movements in MLB doesn't seem to mean much. I actually guess that it's a lot easier to middle MLB because you can guarantee yourself a profit if you hit the two ML sides at the right time. Maybe that's the reason.

You really have to look at both or you're going to end up in the red. Sometimes the stats say yes and the market says no, and vice versa. Situational stats are probably more important than either (rest, travel, key players out, etc)

Honestly, it depends on what you are good at.. Watching line movement is no better than "capping" if you don't know what you are doing. You have to pick your spots on both strategies, that's the hard part. And contrary to popular belief, line movement is overrated.

Line watching takes the emotion out of it in my opinion.

Chasing steam? Most books frown on this. Careful.
