I know what you mean. I had the Celtics to Win and the Lakers/Thunder to go over. But that's why its called gambling. LOL!

At least I won with the Lakers.

I think they have a new of fixing the games, imho. The favorite gives the underdog a double digit lead before they start playing for real. This way the first quarter bets on the favorite and the half time bets on the favorite almost definitely lose. Then, the spread at halftime makes the favorite more or less a pick 'em for the game. Bettors who bet heavily on the favorite's ML for the game may scared and hedge at halftime while lets of bettors will be overconfident in the dog and make bets on them. Then, the favorite comes back and wins the game in the second half.

I watched this scenario the other day in the Magic at T-Wolves game. The Magic beat the T-Wolves by 42 in the first meeting this year and they came out and fell behind by 15 in the first quarter, then, using the exact script I described above, they won by 9 amazingly covering the 8 spread. If they didn't spot the T-Wolves a huge lead they probably would have won by 20+ with no stress at all but hey, it's a business after all.

tbh ive had some games that looked dodgy, btu there is abosultely no possible way that the nba can be fixed as in when players make shots or miss shots... sure they can try n sway it to one side but if the shot doesnt fall it doesnt fall..if they were fixed there wud b no way that they cud keep it a secret...if u think about it

I'll never forget years ago before a Suns playoff game Charles Barkly said the Suns were gonna give a game away, he said it was a "give away game". The Suns didn't show up at all and proceeded to lose by 30 points plus, they did win the series if I remember right.

As for the player's keeping it a secret, they make no secrets about "bringing their A game" or not. They make comments about how they "didn't bring it" on a certain night. Everyone knows about certain teams tanking games for different reasons... how about that? Are the players gonna publicly admit they lost a game on purpose?

This quote by Doc Rivers says a LOT:

"It's just a regular-season game," Rivers said. "There's history between us and all that stuff, so you always want to win. The game doesn't have real meaning, but guys get fired up, at least I hope ours do. I know the other teams do for sure."

What Rivers is ostensibly saying is that they always want to win games against the Magic but when you read between the lines he's also saying that the players don't care about winning every game. Look, they don't even keep it a secret.

Now, when you realize the players don't care about winning every game and that teams intentionally tank games and all of that is kept a secret (NOT) then fixing games and keeping it a secret would seem like par for the course, wouldn't it?

Missing shots on purpose is nothing, any experienced shooter can do that, btw. Anyways, the games can fixed with turnovers, fouls, and a million different "mistakes".

A theory I had when I was teenager that I forgot about was this idea about how teams might "trade games" and how it could be used to maximize profits for Vegas. Here's how it might work:

Two teams like the Celtics and Magic are about equally matched so the management of both teams gets together and makes an agreement: the two teams will play 4 games this year and they'll split the four games. Exactly who will win which game will be worked out with Vegas according to the betting action. Who covers and the over/unders will also be worked out with Vegas so everyone will get maximum profits (Vegas shares the profits with the teams).

I made up that theory when I was a teenager and I forgot about it but at that time I actually used the theory to bet and I was able to SU winners and ATS using that theory, I've forgotten all of that and I stopped believing this theory but I have to admit it seems to fit the results and the way lots of teams seem to care less about whether they win certain games, how certain teams magically cover certain games with the other team's help, etc.

The way today's Magic/Celtics and Thunder/Lakers games turned out it fits my theory possibly, imho.

mate i think ur just too freakin paranoid.
just because charles barkley said the suns would 'throw away' a game u think that it becomes gospel?
is there by no chance the other team came more fired up played better and won the game??

lol @ teams getting together and 'trading games' comon man like seriously u cant think thats true....
all that happen yesterday with the magic celtics and thunder lakers games was that the home team won full stop.
