New Jersey Nets point guard Jason Kidd wasn't selected on the NBA All-Star roster, and says he will not participate in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
"I'm not going to participate. I'm going to skip it," Kidd told the New York Post in Saturday's editions. "I didn't want to do it. Did it before. I've helped the team qualify twice. So I think I'll pass on the third time.
"And it's long: August and September. I wouldn't have that much of a break before the season to get ready, so I thought I would let the younger guys go and do it."
All-Star weekend will held Feb. 17-19 in Houston.
