NBA Home Court Advantage...

....is home court advantage really worth over 10 points? I always assumed it was around 4 to 5 points.

The reason I'm questioning is that on Friday, Phoenix was favored by 5.5 over Memphis at home. Today, 3 days later, Memphis is favored by 5 over Phoenix at home.

Sure the Suns are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights, but so too are the Grizzlies. Any thoughts??

If the teams are evenly matched and home court advantage is worth 5 points then wouldn't it be correct that both teams would be favored by 5 at home?

I would think that both teams would be favored at home by 2.5, if home court advantage is worth 5 points.
Maybe I'm not thinking logically, but a swing from +5 to -5, would make home court advantage worth approximately 10 points.

average is 3-4 points depending upon whether divisional or inter-conference matchup.

the 10 point swing accounts for more than just homecourt

I dont get what could possibly swing this matchup an additional 6-7 points. Both teams playing 3IN4, no key injuries to speak of. Seems strange to me.
