The wheels are in motion in the case against six officials accused of fixing two FIFA international friendlies held last month in Antalya, Turkey.

FIFA began its disciplinary proceedings on Thursday regarding the Bolivia-Latvia and Estonia-Bulgaria matches held on Feb. 9. Latvia downed Bolivia 2-1 while Estonia and Bulgaria drew 2-2, but suspicions arose when all seven goals were scored on penalty kicks.

"The proceedings were opened following an evaluation of all documentation and information received by FIFA, in relation to a possible match-fixing situation in these matches," FIFA said in a statement.

A German magazine called Stern reported earlier this week that more than $6.9 million US was wagered on the Estonia-Bulgaria match. Both games were also very poorly attended.

"There will be new regulations for these international matches which are mostly … organized only for betting reasons," FIFA President Sepp Blatter said last Thursday after a meeting of his executive committee.

and people think sports aren't fixed there is always bad apples in all batches!
