Basketball - Euroleague Round 2
Cibona-Fenerbahce Ulker
Pick: Under 151.5 @ 1.80 (point buy)
Time: 19:30 (GMT +3)
I bought a full point on this one because I didn't act sooner. Anyway, I don't expect this to be a high scoring game because Cibona is a really defensive team at home and is not that offense oriented. Neither are the Turks for that matter so I think that this game will not have a high score.
Panathinaikos - CSKA Moscow
Pick: Panathinaikos -6.5 @ 1.86 (hook buy)
Time: 21:45 (GMT +3)
Both are very good teams, but I think Panathinaikos will cover. It's still the beginning and they will want to show their crowd that they can control a game and make them happy. They probably have one of the best teams in Europe and can take any team apart (except for those inevitable bad days). Covering against CSKA will be a statement since CSKA is also one of the best teams in Europe.
Maccabi Electra vs Zalgiris
Pick: Maccabi -8 @ 1.83 (hook buy)
Time: 22:00 (GMT +3)
Again I was late in taking this and it went up 1.5 points so I just bought back down to -8 and if worst comes to worst I'll push since I wanted this originally at -7.
Maccabi suffered a huge loss from Caja Laboral on the first day of their group play. This was mostly because the Spaniards were hitting threes all over the place. Tonight at home in Tel Aviv they need the win if they want to stay in the race for first place in their group. Zalgiris is also coming off a win at home against Partizan. It's normal for a team to be inconsistent at the start of the season. Maccabi has a strong team and I think they can win (and hopefully cover) for the first time this year. Their core players can cause Zalgiris a lot of trouble and I think they will also have lots of help in the paint from Sofoklis Schortsianitis who was acquired from Olympiakos Pireas this year.
I don't expect Zalgiris to score more than 70 points away from home.
I don't want to ramble on. I think that Maccabi covering is quite possible.
The times I'll be stating will always be GMT +3 so check your books for your local times.
BOL to all!
