New season, let's see what we can do.
As far as unit sizes and bankroll management I start every sport with a 100 unit bankroll (each unit is 1% of my bankroll). My range is 1-5% of my bankroll on any given day, so the first day I bet I can only bet between 1-5 units but as my bankroll changes, my unit amount changes even though my range (1-5%) doesn't change.
My records have the total amount of units I won or lost on any given season, the original 100 unit bankroll is not included, so basically in 2008 NFL for example I made 359.45 units (after deducting the units I lost on teasers). That is pure profit and if there were games today then my bankroll would be 459.45 (the profit so far plus the 100 units I started with), that means that the most I could bet on any given game is about 23 units (5% of my roll). I mention this because you won't catch me betting huge amounts of units unless I have the bankroll to make those plays, in other words in 2009 CFB when I lost 89.28 units of my CFB bankroll there was no way I could have played Florida -whatever for 100 units, these are my real bets and my real bankroll and we all know real bankrolls don't allow you to do that.
If I lose all my bankroll for 1 sport then that's it, I'm done for the year. I might stop playing even before I lose it all. I won't "borrow" from another sport, each sport has it's individual bankroll and if I blow it then I probably shouldn't be playing that sport anyway (at least for that season).
The goal is to double the roll in the season, ambitious but it can be done.
Everyone is welcome guys, critics, supporters, haters, whatever.
Good luck to everyone this season and let's toast to a fun and hopefully profitable season.
These are the current threads I have going:
