706 Utah -6 -- Nash is out tonight and Phoenix is not good without him. The home ct advantage for a rested team vs a team that played the night before is 4.7 pts and a bit higher for games at altitude (denver/salt lake city). That makes this line low to me as the Jazz are a much better team than a Nashless Suns.

721 Wisc Milwaukee +12 -- Wisco Mil is on a 5 game win streak (4-1 ATS) and have been playing great defense. That should keep them in this game.

UC Santa Barbara Pk (at UC Irvine)
UCSB outscores opponents by 7.3; UC Irvine gets outscored by 0.3. UCSB is coming off a disappointing conference loss at home to CS Northridge. I see them contending for the Big West conference title. I think they will win this one.

Nevada -6 (at San Jose State)
Nevada has owned San Jose State for years. I know, I know, the Spartans are much improved. But not that much. On 12/22, Nevada got back an experienced guard (Lyndale Burleson, academic issues) and they just recently got back a decent front court off-the-bench guy (Richie Phillips, leg). This gives them some depth, front and back. This is Nevada's WAC opener. It's a lot of points to lay on the road, but I think they'll be up by 6 at the half and cover this pretty easily.

U of D has lost eight games in a row. I like the number in this game. I think Cleveland St. wins by 5.

I think WGB is not getting the line respect here. I think Butler wins by 10.

702 San Antonio Spurs -3½
The Spurs got their squad back complete and that is the squad that won the championship last year. They should start improving their W-L record to match their greateness. While the Pistons are hot AND good there is a good chance they do not care much about this trip results as the last game showed. They are on a touch spot schedule wise and there is no need for them to kill themselves.

Phoe/Utah under 220.5 - A popular choice, but I'm going to ride with it myself. Marion hurting, Nash out, Utah will probably try to defend, I'm guessing they won't try to outgun Phoenix at their own game. Utah does go high often, but this is a very high total, I think it could either sneak under if the game is high scoring, or could evenm clear by a mile if the score is 93-78 or something like that.

George Washington -1 - I think GW should pull this one out. St. Louis has played some good games but they still get beat pretty badly on the road, all GW needs to do is win here, I'll take my chances with that happening.

Sacremento I don't know any other play. And the only live basketball I've seen was raptors at memphis and memphis was awful (so were the raps but that's besides the point).

Jazz -6: Just a slight difference between Nash and Marcus Banks. Despite their mediocre record, Utah still tough as ever at home (13-3), and a Phoenix squad lacking depth even when healthy will be highly dependent on the bench w/o Steve, G-Hill and Marion.

Suns/Jazz UNDER 220.5: No Nash and no Marion to fill the lane will make Phoenix's fastbreak considerably less effective. The Suns' halfcourt sets should also suffer w/o Steve running the point.

1. Check in the NBA BASKETBALL HANDICAPPING FORUM each day for the daily thread to be posted by LT Profits. Lines will be posted by 11:00 a.m. (ET) each day. Plays may be posted before that, but the official posted lines will be used for grading.

2. Posted spreads and totals are the only eligible plays for grading. Both NBA and NCAA games included.

3. Two-game parlay picks, laying 10 to win 26. Post entire parlay at same time, no open parlays.

4. Here’s the catch: Your play must include a write-up, doesn’t have to be long, just a sentence or two about why you’re making your play. Here’s a THREAD from last year’s contest to be used for an example.

5. And here’s the fine print:

• One entry per household and IP address.
  
• Must use lines posted in daily thread by LT Profits
  
• Maximum one parlay pick per day, minimum 15 parlay plays needed to be eligible for monthly prize.

usc -1 1/2 unranked favorite over ranked system. this system makes money every year.

sac is without bibby, artest, kevin martin. they have been out for a while but also miller 20 point average and salmons leading scorer with 21 point average did not practice yesterday as they were sick with flu. gametime decisions. take away 40 points or even half of them if one of these play with other starters out who is going to make up points against memphis who can score and is healthy.
