Memphis Grizzlies New Orleans Hornets
Very high scoring game in prospect here with the Hornets travelling very well this season traveling to face the Grizzlies.
Memphis lost by 3 to the Bucks the other night and now return home to face the very good Hornets.
The Hornets play this season should'nt be to much of a surprise really,over the last two seasons they have been getting better and better and have almost made the play offs for the past two seasons,West 18 ppg and Paul 18 ppg are the keys for the Hornets and have been for a whuile now,Paul is shooting at 51% on the season and 44% from 3 point land,West is shooting at 45% from the field and 60% from 3 point land,Stojakovic is shooting at 47% from 3 point land and Peterson is even better with more attempts from the arc and hitting them at 45% and Butler is shooting at 47% from the field and 48% from beyond the arc and Pargo is hooting at 60% from 3 point range,these stats in this game imparticular are important,the Grizzlies who were strong in defence only a couple of seasons ago are now one of the worst and allow open 3 point looks often and against the Hornets that could be a bad idea.
For Memphis the Grizzlies are'nt playing to bad but they are just defending well enough,they run the ball all game long and it affects them in defence their main scorers are Gay 20 ppg and Gasol 17ppg,Miller 13 ppg and Millic 11 ppg,Gay and Gasol are shooting at 50% which is good from the field but the only other Grizzlie to be shooting well is Swift who is shooting at 54%,from 3 point range the Grizzlies really take a hit with no one shooting over 36% from beyond the arc apart from damon Stoudemire who is shooting at 47% and is 10 from 21 from out there.
This is not a good match up for the Grizzlies and although i think the Hornets can win,once again I would much rather prefer the total here,the total has gone over 203 in 4 of the Hornets last 5 visits to Memphis and they have won their last two visits to memphis,Memphis is also 1-6 againt the spread in their last 7 against the Hornets for those who like the points start optin better,but for me i'll stick with the total here and it should be covered if both sides continuie to play the way they have been...Good Luck.
